'Battle for Enkeon' Launches Kickstarter Campaign - Screens & Trailer

Battle for Enkeon is a turn-based strategy game, boasting an epic scifi story of rebellion against dictatorship.

Battle For Enkeon takes place on a planet called Enkeon, with a race known as the Enki, a planet gripped in a mass civil war. When much of the population began to realise the true plans behind a drug called Tranquillian, protests and riots occurred. These were quickly shut down with unbridled force by the ruler of Enkeon, Ezeru. Many were slaughtered.

From this point on, the individual resistance groups that had once been few and far between gained mass support and reformed into a worldwide, organised rebellion, with many civilians signing up after the massacre that had occurred. Very quickly the rebellion began to gain ground with the main goal being to seize control of the Tranquillian supplies and bring down Ezeru’s regime, until...

The ongoing war between the rebellion and Ezeru was quickly put on hold when an un-identified, overwhelmingly powerful foe emerged. In his overconfidence Ezeru engaged this enemy head on but after the decimation of his forces, he disappeared and the power structure of the planet was suddenly left in the hands of the rebellion. Now the sole remaining organised force on the planet, they are left with a greater fight than ever before, a fight for the Enki's very survival.

Now as the new enemy moves to take over the planet, the rebels are the Enki’s last hope for survival. The power and ability to save Enkeon belongs to you. The planet needs you.

It's time for you join the Battle For Enkeon!

Wakefield-based indie developer Storm Wolf Studios are seeking an initial target of £15,000 in order to fund development of Battle For Enkeon, which is expected to be released in 2018.

Backers can pledge for a range of rewards, including a copy of the official soundtrack, a Rebel Leader’s plaque and a custom statue of an in-game character. Also on offer are copies of the game itself and an exclusive t-shirt.

If the Kickstarter achieves its target, the money raised will go directly into further development for the game, including modelling, animation and voice over costs.

Stretch goals for the project include a story mode, online multiplayer mode, fully destructible environments and much more.

The core gameplay missions are focused on turn-based combat where the player controls a number of squad members. The game has a squad of main characters - Karru, Caitalin, James and The Commander. They are vital to the storyline, and as such in order to progress it's your responsibility as the player to not only defeat the enemy troops but keep your own squad alive whenever they are on the battlefield!

You will also be able to recruit your own troops and customise them, using them to fight in story missions that don't involve the main characters. These units can be used on missions but beware, if they die you'll need to recruit more squad members!

Each class unit (Sniper, Assault, Support, Heavy) has unique skills and you must use everything they have to kill the enemy units, so be sure to choose a balanced team. Hide behind a wide range of environmental objects, remove the enemy's cover by destroying the scenery, heal your units, cause explosions and even synchronise your team's attacks to unleash devastating assaults against the opposition. Increase the quantity of items in your base to stand a better chance of beating the odds in battle.
