QuakeCon is the ultimate video game festival and party. QuakeCon is open to the public and attendance is FREE thanks to the support of id Software, Bethesda Softworks, the QuakeCon volunteer staff, and the event sponsors/exhibitors.

Entering its 22nd year, QuakeCon 2017 will continue to celebrate games and the people who play them by hosting North America’s largest BYOC (Bring-Your-Own-Computer) LAN party. With over two thousand BYOC seats available, participants can showcase their custom computers and join the QuakeCon gamer community to play their favorite games either solo or against one another on the same local area network.

QuakeCon is free for general attendees and open to the public. This year’s event will offer diverse activities for all, including those who choose not to bring their own computer. Attendees are first to see sneak peeks of Bethesda’s upcoming titles and announcements while also attending a wide array of presentations, tournaments, workshops and exhibits from leading tech companies showcasing the newest gaming accessories and hardware.

QuakeCon will take place Thursday, August 24 – Sunday, August 27, 2017.

Location:

Gaylord Texan Resort and Convention Center
1501 Gaylord Trail
Grapevine, TX 76051

The inaugural Quake World Championships, the ultimate esports showcase of pure skill in Quake Champions, is moving on to the Global Finals after weeks of intense competition from some of the greatest professional players in the world. At QuakeCon, Aug 24-26 in Dallas, Texas, the best of the best will fight it out on the main stage for their share of the $1 Million Prize Pool and to claim their place amongst the legends of esports’ founding franchise.

Throughout the Quake World Championships, dozens of teams and hundreds of players have faced off in qualifiers in both the classic proof of skill, 1v1 Duel mode, and the new team-based 4v4 mode, Sacrifice. 16 Sacrifice teams and 64 Duel players competed this weekend in Regional Finals in Burbank, CA and Leicester, England to try to earn their trip to QuakeCon.

Eight esports teams earned a spot in the Sacrifice Finals, including top units like international esports powerhouse Team Liquid, and NOTOFAST, whose member list reads like a “who’s who” of Quake competitive legends: noctis, fazz, stermy and toxjq. In addition, 24 elite individual fraggers have punched their tickets for QuakeCon’s Duel Finals, including Liquid.Rapha, the 2016 QuakeCon Duel Champion; cYpher, from Virtus.pro.cYpheR, the 2014 QuakeCon Duel Champion; Liquid.DaHanG, the 2014 QuakeCon Duel runner-up; and Na’Vi.C8LLER, the 2010 QuakeCon duel runner-up.

An additional eight Duel Finalists will earn their spots by fighting through the Open Competition to be held in the Bring-Your-Own-Computer (BYOC) area of QuakeCon.

The Million Dollar Finals from QuakeCon will be streamed live for all to watch August 24-26 on Twitch, YouTube, and Facebook.

QuakeCon will once again host several charitable organizations at their 2017 event. This year, the American Red Cross, 1UpOnCancer, Dallas Pets Alive!, Extra Life, nonPareil Institute and GameChanger will have a presence at the show, providing attendees with several opportunities to give back to the community.

“We’re honored to host a variety of charities at QuakeCon this year, giving our attendees more opportunities to support a cause that they really connect with,” said Pete Hines, VP of PR and Marketing, Bethesda Softworks. “Seeing the community band together to support these organizations has become one of the highlights of our show.”
