by Rainier on Sept. 8, 2017 @ 12:08 p.m. PDT

Ancestors Legacy is a a squad-based real-time strategy that will take players into the early Middle ages, with both an extensive singleplayer campaign and multiplayer, all built around real events and featuring historical accuracy and advanced game mechanics.

Take command of your army as you storm through medieval Europe in an extensive series of campaigns. Choosing one of the four available nations – Viking, Anglo-Saxon, German, Slav – you will be tasked with more than just conquering, raiding and pillaging enemy camps, villages and towns. Only by utilizing the full range of available tactical options, taking strategic advantage of the environment, and managing your temporary bases and settlements, will you emerge victorious.

Ancestors is a historically accurate real-time strategy game influenced by historical events in the Middle Ages. The game combines resource management and base building with large-scale, squad-based battles across vast battlefields, all rendered in great detail thanks to the Unreal Engine 4 tech. Experience medieval bloodshed like never before, thanks to the cinematic action camera that puts you right in the middle of the battle at the press of a button.

The latest Ancestors Legacy gameplay video shows you exactly how important tactics, combat features unique to your troop, the ability to move stealthily, or having a hero on your side may be. And this time the developers have provided a commentary to help all gamers better understand the gameplay features.

Watch a single-player mission, in which you’ll experience the stealthy side of Ancestors Legacy and learn basic combat rules. Take a peek at its complex mechanics and don’t underestimate the importance of sneaking about. Care for your squad to become invincible. Choose your opponents wisely, and remember – some units will be ineffective against others. Use diversions and lure your enemies to take them out with style.

Ancestors Legacy, with its 4 different nations, offers many different ways of achieving tactical dominance and overall superiority on the battlefield. The Vikings from the Norse Kingdoms are more mobile than other units with their light infantry and cavalry.

Vikings play the role of aggressors in the game, so they don’t have permanent buildings that may be considered a “base”. Their tactics are based on an ambush–attack–retreat formula, and it works frightfully well for them. They do have some simple settlements, though, and it’s worth noting that they are based on military camps from the 10th – 11th century. The tribe as such is based on Vikings who lived in the area of modern-day Norway, Sweden, and Denmark in the period between the 9th and 11th century.

You probably also noticed that we have changed the name to Ancestors Legacy to make it a bit more unique and easier to find.
