Sinner follows Adam, a soldier with a dark past. Adam embarks on a journey for absolution, facing off against monstrous beasts to reconcile his heinous crimes. Based on the seven deadly sins, these savage specters will reveal their personal connections with Adam as he advances his quest for atonement to a hauntingly beautiful soundtrack.
Before each trial Adam must sacrifice a part of himself, resulting in a permanent debuff for the rest of his encounters. Each battle will be more difficult than the last as every debuff lowers Adam's health, depletes his resources or weakens his weapons and armor. Fortunately, an arsenal of unlockable equipment will help Adam compensate for his increasing weaknesses. Alternate gear can be unlocked in New Game+ mode, lending replayability to Adam’s journey for redemption.
If all hope is lost, revive a defeated enemy to regain a sacrificed attribute and revisit the battle later. Experiment to find the optimal path to redemption or take on all debuffs simultaneously from the start for a challenging and rewarding journey.
Sinner: Sacrifice for Redemption is available for purchase now on Nintendo Switch, PS4 (10% discount for a limited time) and Xbox One in addition to the recently launched Discord store (Steam at a alter date).
“Our aim with Sinner was to provide a blend of difficulty and fairness that will satisfy hardcore gamers whether they have time to play for long sessions or only in smaller chunks,” says Iain Garner, director of developer relations, Another Indie. “The gameplay additions in New Game+ give the game vast replayability through greater choices so people can customize the challenge to be exactly as hard as they want.”
Starting today, Xbox Game Pass members can explore a dark and forbidding realm with a twisted past and deep lore in “Sinner: Sacrifice for Redemption.”
A New Game+ mode adds replayability through unlockable equipment and a variety of game modes. Take on foes with only no weapon, dealing less damage and giving up the ability to parry, or wail on them with twin hammers to see all the endings more quickly. Up the ante in Nightmare Mode, a boss rush featuring all the monstrosities in rapid succession for the ultimate test of skill.
What has Adam done to warrant putting himself through such a grueling trial? The action is framed by a desolate afterlife in which Adam seeks to restore his memories and atone for his sins. As he defeats each new boss, his history with these evil atrocities will be revealed. How he interacts with each boss will ultimately decide his fate in one of multiple endings.
