Frostpunk is a city-survival game in which heat means life, and every decision comes with a cost. Living among the frozen remnants of Earth, it is up to you to shape society, establishing the laws and customs to ensure survival.

The premise begins by imagining what society is capable of when pushed to the limit. In a completely frozen world, people develop steam-powered technology to oppose the overwhelming cold. Society in its current form becomes ineffective and it has to change in order to survive. What does this change mean? What is culture when morality stands in the way of existence? In the end, survival may transform us completely. Whether that change makes us better or worse, stronger or weaker, or even more or less humane is debatable.

With the future of humankind in your hands, Frostpunk is both a challenge of tactical planning and a test of your own humanity.

As planned, and as promised in the development roadmap, the Endless Mode expansion is free for all owners of the base game.

Forged over months at 11 bit studios, Endless Mode now goes live and introduces two styles of endless play: 'Serenity' for the constructors who enjoy growing the city at their own pace without hard challenges, and 'Endurance' for survivalists looking to earn their stripes and see how long they’re able to live in the harsh cold world of Frostpunk.

In both modes, new buildings are introduced to enrich the city’s architecture (including an Archives building that enables players to store lore and information in a single area), new sites can be discovered in the frostland, and new random events that may confront you with previously unknown challenges.

In the time since it was announced, Endless Mode is the expansion we have seen the most feedback about on our forums, on Twitter, Facebook, and directly by email. In fact, while it was originally teased in the roadmap, the idea had taken hold within the community since the original launch of Frostpunk in April.
