Inspired by real events and imbued with themes of love, hope and migration, Bury me, my Love tells the story of Syrian refugee Nour and her husband Majd as Nour undertakes a perilous journey to safety.
Bury me, my Love follows, through a WhatsApp-like interface, the hazardous journey of a refugee from Syria to Europe, from the perspective of her husband who has to stay behind in the equally dangerous surroundings of their war-ravaged home. It has been produced in consultation with real-life refugees, but the game’s characters are fictional.
By reading instant messages and choosing response options, players help Nour overcome the hardships she will encounter, with the story featuring multiple endings.
Bury me, my Love can be played in real-time, with messages arriving in intermittent intervals, sometimes stretching for hours.
Currently available on iOS and Android, Bury me, my Love will be coming to Nintendo Switch and PC starting January 10, 2019.
