'Insidia' Soon Leaving Early Access, Gets Release Date - Trailer

by Rainier on Feb. 8, 2018 @ 2:26 a.m. PST

Insidia is a turn-based tactical game, where players control a band of four champions in hectic turn-based online PvP battles.

Insidia puts to the test your strategy skills as you face off with your opponents in intense online PvP matches to dominate and counter their moves within the game map. Each INSIDIA player fights to secure critical objects in order to destroy the enemy’s defenses and gain outright victory. A colorful roster of wild characters including fierce punks, mutated wizards and steampunk knights forms the core of a player’s fully customizable hand-picked team of champions, each with their own unique set of abilities and skills.

Champions are represented by three different abilities, Passive, Active and Ultimate. Passive abilities allow player characters to act automatically to events and scenarios in the ensuing battle. Active abilities allow the champions signature ability to be used every time a champion is activated. Ultimate abilities require an energy cost to be paid in order to be utilized, energy is a resource in Insidia that is passively generated each turn.

After 23 weeks in Early Access and 23 weekly updates developed alongside the community, Insidia is finally ready to leave the Beta stage, and will be coming to Steam (PC, Mac, SteamOS and Ubuntu) on February 27, 2018.

Carefully thought-out moves and a well-chosen team with the right abilities is essential to become victorious. Different strategies must be brought into play in Tactical Mode, where opponents plan their strategies simultaneously in a timed match, and Resolution Mode, where they execute strategies one after another, reacting to the opponent's moves.

Thanks to its competitive nature and incredibly fun to watch gameplay, INSIDIA aspires to become a competitive esport game. It has been selected to be the first indie game of its kind featured on FACEIT, the leading platform for online competitions, with nearly 10 millions members, joining such titles as Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, DOTA 2, Overwatch and more on the platform. INSIDIA's integration with FACEIT allows players to easily take part in tournaments, leagues, ladders, hubs and more.

Key Features:

  • Simultaneous Turns - During a window of 20 seconds, both players declare their actions to issue an order to one of their champions. Once complete, the fight unfolds during a resolution phase where the outcome for both players is revealed.
  • Passive Abilities - INSIDIA’s combat system is composed of passive and automatic abilities in additional to player-driven attacks. Champions not chosen in any given turn won’t sit idly by — automated actions for each champion keeps the entire squad fully engaged in combat!
  • Combo Combo Combo! - By carefully weaving together active and passive abilities, players can achieve spectacular combos. In and between turns, champions join forces to deliver devastating blows with just a few simple clicks by the player!
  • Map Objectives - INSIDIA isn’t a mere deathmatch. Players must capture critical objects in order to destroy an enemy’s defense and lay waste to their base — MOBA enthusiasts will feel right at home. And champions that take the risk of capturing secondary goals may unlock abilities that can overturn even the most dire situations.
