'Saint Kotar' - New Screens & Trailer

by Rainier on May 1, 2018 @ 7:27 a.m. PDT

Saint Kotar is a 2.5D adventure game that merges psychological horror narrative and classically inspired point 'n click mechanics with switchable characters.

Hand-painted in a distinctive art style that fits the game’s mood, fully voiced and featuring an eerie original soundtrack, Saint Kotar draws inspiration from p&c classics like Broken Sword, Gabriel Knight and Black Mirror, along with the works from horror fiction writers such as H.P. Lovecraft and Edgar Allan Poe.

Invited to attend an exhibition of rare medieval art, the protagonists travel to Sveti Kotar at the end of October 2006. The welcoming is cold, as they find themselves dragged abruptly into a macabre series of murders, allegedly related to devil worship and witchcraft. These dreadful acts compel the protagonists to follow the shadow of something deeply hidden behind the town’s dark past.

Saint Kotar first ever public playtest was a success! A playable demo preview version was exhibited at the Reboot Develop conference in Dubrovnik, Croatia, from April 19 to April 21. Our indie booth was almost always occupied during the event, with people curiously stopping by and playing the game. Reactions from the players were great, they liked what they experienced, and we’ve received some valuable feedback as well.

And, although we value each player as an important part of our journey as developers, our booth was visited by a player that has a special meaning in the community, a true legend: Charles Cecil (Revolution Software co-founder, known for Broken Sword).

Mister Cecil played the whole preview version and gave his word to help us once the Kickstarter campaign launches. Yes, he liked Saint Kotar, and we were both humbled and proud!

Right now we don’t have an exact release date for the playable demo and the Kickstarter campaign launch, but as already announced, they are both scheduled to take off this spring.
