'H1Z1' (ALL) PS4 Open Beta Hits 4.5 Million Players

by Rainier on May 25, 2018 @ 5:58 p.m. PDT

H1Z1 is a large-scale, high-intensity multiplayer shooter comprised of a variety of new fight-to-the-death game modes.

You drop into a high-intensity, arena-style grudge match. You activate your inner beast mode, gear up fast, throw together a game plan, and jump into the fray, ready to see if you have what it takes to be the last man standing. Whether you’re racking up a kill streak or just adding to the chaos, you’re ready to spill blood. After all, dying is for losers.

H1Z1 is being developed as a fast-paced shooter that will be comprised of multiple fight-to-the-death game modes, including Battle Royale. Players will compete in large-scale chaotic PvP spectacles of skill, wit, and a little luck, where everyone must fight to the death to stand alone at the top of the podium.

Will you be the type to hide among the berry bushes, letting most of the crowd thin themselves out before you join the ruckus? Or are you going to dive in, guns blazing, adding kills faster than you can count? Which weapons will you grab first, and what other supplies will help take you to victory? King of the Kill game modes are all about scavenging and strategy (and, yes, a little bit of luck and a whole lot of crazy).

Yesterday H1Z1 was played by more than 1.5 million fans within the 24-hour of the PS4 launch, and now Daybreak Games' PS4 multiplayer shooter has reached yet another milestone!

4.5 million players have downloaded H1Z1 to their PS4 console since the Open Beta went live just three days ago. In celebration, players that downloaded the game will receive a unique skin for the Hellfire 4-6.

PLUS, Duos is now unlocked with a brand new patch - see the latest fixes here.

H1Z1 has been redesigned specifically for PS4 players, with a larger weapon arsenal -- six new weapons -- and fully reworked UI among the new features. Matches are fast and frantic. The encroaching ring of toxic gas moves quickly while the new weapon progression system keeps players engaged with frequent, increasingly lucrative airdrops.

H1Z1’s control system has been overhauled for maximum speed and mayhem on PS4. With a familiar radial weapon menu, players can quickly switch between their two weapons of choice: guns and grenades. The grab-and-go equipment system also makes it easier for players to collect loot on the run.

Airdrops have never been more important in H1Z1. As the primary way to find the best loot, players must strategically decide when to pursue a mass airdrop for higher-powered armor and better weapons. For more cautious players, special crates with similar high-level gear are hidden throughout the map -- just listen for the radio chatter and signal beacon that sounds when they are nearby.
