'Forgotton Anne' (ALL) Update Will Add More Langauges - Trailer

by Rainier on June 21, 2018 @ 7:50 a.m. PDT

Forgotton Anne is a 2D cinematic adventure game combining puzzle platforming with adventure game elements.

Forgotton Anne is a dazzling, story-driven, hand-crafted 2D cinematic adventure focused on the mysterious Forgotten Lands:  the hidden dimension where all mislaid items from the human world - the odd socks, the lost letters, the missing toys - all linger.

With the help of the Forgotlings - creatures composed of mislaid objects longing to be remembered again - the trapped Anne and Master Bonku begin a quest to find their way home. It’s a story full of emotion, and one layered with a combination of light 2D puzzle platforming and dialogue choices.

Square Enix Collective can today announce that 2D cinematic adventure Forgotton Anne will benefit from a major update this summer adding multiple languages to play, such as Russian, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese and Brazilian Portuguese and Polish.

“This marks the next stage in Forgotton Anne’s journey, and we’re really pleased to bring the game to new gamers, adding language support for scores of new countries and, indeed, support for Steam players on Mac as well,” says Alfred Nguyen, Creative Director and Co-founder of ThroughLine Games. “We’ve really enjoyed putting together the new trailer to mark the occasion - some of the reviews we received really touched us.”

Key Features:

  • A Seamless 2D Cinematic Experience: Featuring detailed painted environments and traditional 2d animations that will make you feel as if you are in an animated feature. Cutscenes are rendered "ingame" allowing for seamless storytelling, while an orchestral score and fully voiced dialogue completes the illusion.
  • Epic Adventure: As you run, jump and climb your way through the Forgotton Realm, your actions can affect how you experience the story. Featuring Dialogue Options, your encounter with Forgotling creatures can have different outcomes as you uncover the mysteries of the world and your past in this emotional fantasy adventure where things are not always as they appear to be...
  • Use the Arca: As the feared enforcer, Anne, you wield the Arca stone on your hand, enabling you to see and manipulate Anima energy in your surroundings. The power of the Arca lets you distill and instill Anima into creatures and control machinery that runs on Anima. Your actions may decide the fate of many a Forgotling.

On the audio-side, ThroughLine Games is proud to announce a collaboration with the Copenhagen Philharmonic Orchestra which marks the first time orchestral music is being recorded in Denmark for a videogame, utilizing world-class concert hall Radiohuset produced together with acclaimed music production house Timbre Music. The music is composed by ThroughLine's in-house composer Peter Due.

Forgotton Anne is available on PC (Steam) for £15.49/$19.99/€19.99 (pre-sale price), on Xbox One for £15.99/$19.99/€19.99, and PS4 for £16.00/$19.99/€19.99.
