'H1Z1' (ALL) Adds New Outbreak Map And Enhancements On PC

by Rainier on June 27, 2018 @ 8:25 a.m. PDT

H1Z1 is a large-scale, high-intensity multiplayer shooter comprised of a variety of new fight-to-the-death game modes.

You drop into a high-intensity, arena-style grudge match. You activate your inner beast mode, gear up fast, throw together a game plan, and jump into the fray, ready to see if you have what it takes to be the last man standing. Whether you’re racking up a kill streak or just adding to the chaos, you’re ready to spill blood. After all, dying is for losers.

H1Z1 is being developed as a fast-paced shooter that will be comprised of multiple fight-to-the-death game modes, including Battle Royale. Players will compete in large-scale chaotic PvP spectacles of skill, wit, and a little luck, where everyone must fight to the death to stand alone at the top of the podium.

Will you be the type to hide among the berry bushes, letting most of the crowd thin themselves out before you join the ruckus? Or are you going to dive in, guns blazing, adding kills faster than you can count? Which weapons will you grab first, and what other supplies will help take you to victory? King of the Kill game modes are all about scavenging and strategy (and, yes, a little bit of luck and a whole lot of crazy).

Daybreak Games released a massive game update on the PC for its standalone battle royale shooter H1Z1, that includes a new map, animation enhancements and more.

The game’s new map, Outbreak, is a post-apocalyptic, 8x8 square kilometer world that was designed to enhance H1Z1’s frantic, fast-paced battle royale gameplay. Outbreak includes signature landmarks from Z1, the initial map from the game’s original Early Access release. Outbreak features new terrain, points of interest, and art and textures, along with improvements to fan-favourite Z1 environments, creating a more dynamic and competitive battle royale experience. Outbreak is now available in Solos, Duos, and Fives Modes on PC.

Alongside the new map, the update includes changes to gameplay mechanics that allow players to recapture the classic feel of H1Z1. This includes new run and jump movements and animations to create a faster and more responsive system that keeps combat fun and intuitive. Classic audio cues also make their return with this update.

Gameplay Updates

  • Spawn selection has been disabled in all Outbreak game modes.
  • The AR-15 and AK-47 have been adjusted to allow two to three (depending on how fast you're firing) extra shots put on target before recoil growth kicks in. This does not affect tapping shot behavior.
  • The AR-15 and AK-47 are now 60% more accurate when hip-firing.
  • Crouch fatigue has been removed, so players are no longer restricted with the crouch action regardless of how often it is used.
  • Jump animations have been shortened to provide a more responsive jump action, allowing players to jump more frequently without having to wait for animations to complete. Additionally, player momentum and velocity persist in the direction of the jump, allowing you to freely aim and look around without prematurely shortening your leap.
  • Running and sprinting animations have been restored to Preseason 3 versions, with the Rifle class of weapons having a prominent forward-facing position.
  • Much-beloved bullet impact sounds have returned. Helmet break, headshot, and laminated/makeshift armor break sounds are all back from Preseason 3.
