'Dead In Vinland' Development Roadmap Reveals Upcoming DLCs and Patches

by Rainier on July 11, 2018 @ 8:31 a.m. PDT

Dead In Vinland is a survival management game set on a faraway unknown land, where you must lead Eirik and his family on their quest to survive.

Manage their physical and mental health, explore the island, organize your camp and deal with other human beings - friends or foes. Discover some esoteric mysteries while you’re there, too. Mysteries that could save your life... Or lead you to your own demise.

Set in the same universe as CCCP’s Dead in Bermuda, Dead in Vinland pulls from many genres with survival management systems, RPG and adventure elements, with a focus on player choice.  Each game is totally independant, you won't miss a thing if you haven't played DiB, but in the end you'll learn in each game more about a common thread that ties everything together.

Exiled on a faraway, unknown land, lead Eirik and his family on their quest to survive. Manage their physical and mental health, explore the island, organize your camp and deal with other human beings – friends or foes. Discover some of the esoteric mysteries in Vinland - mysteries that could save your life…or lead you to your own demise.

Since launch CCCP has been working on Dead In Vinland, with a patch released in June that addressed most of the feedbacks from the community: skip mode for the dialogues, post-battle XP, plenty of quality of life improvements…

“However, CCCP didn’t want to stop there,” said Matthieu Richez, Lead Game Designer and CEO of CCCP. “We want to keep working on Dead In Vinland as long as they can. We checked the forums, we checked the ideas coming from the Feature Wishlist thread, and some of our own... and we can now officially announce that we will be working on at least 3 DLCs for Dead In Vinland! And free updates, of course.”

Dead In Vinland roadmap:

1. New Companion (summer 2018): This summer, we’re going to add a new companion in Dead In Vinland. We haven’t announced the identity of this companion yet, but it’s a nice surprise.

2. New Game Mode (Fall 2018): We’re adding a brand new mode for Dead In Vinland that will give you a totally new way to play the game. It’s a mode that was actually asked by the players.

3. New content (Q1 2019): We can’t reveal much, but we will add some new content in Dead In Vinland! We can only say that this one will have to do with the dialogues. We’ll share the details in 2019.

Each DLC will be accompanied with a major 1.X patch, with new features from the DLC that will be available for free to everyone, as well as smaller improvements on the game.

Key Features:

  • Deep survival management simulation: Manage the physical and mental health of your team, ration food, and choose daily activities
  • Challenging and turn-based: Randomized elements make it so there is no perfect strategy. Take your time and adapt to the situation to make the best decisions!
  • Build your community of up to 14 playable characters. Meaningful choices will alter the relationships in your team and the story. Expect romances, hatred and betrayals!
  • Evolve your camp: Craft more than 150 upgrades to help you settle on this cursed island
  • Fight the elements: Face terrible storms and droughts. Manage your potable water stocks wisely!
  • An island to explore: Featuring over 150 map areas, discover the secrets of the island in a non-linear story. And maybe... other survivors?
  • Full RPG system: Usable objects, skills to upgrade, characters to level-up, character traits
  • Tactical turn-based combat system

Dead In Vinland is currently available as digital download through Steam for PC and Mac.
