As in American football, the goal of each player is to score the most touchdowns but here almost everything is allowed on the field, not just passing and running with the (moving squig) ball, but also punching the opponent in the face or having a wizard blasting opponents with lightning spells. 

You have full command of your players, move them around the pitch, activate their skills and special moves, and trigger passes and dashes in order to evade the opponents and to score TOUCHDOWNS. Each match lasts only 5 minutes and will put your skills and nerves to the test. You’re in total control… can you lead your players to the victory?

The Death Zone challenge is a popular pre-game event among Blood Bowl fans. It pits legendary Star Players, backed by their generous sponsors and the support of four amateur players, against each other. Of course, all races from the Old World are allowed on the pitch and gamers will be able to pick teams of Orcs, Dwarfs, High Elves or even Humans. Additionally, each team is allowed the use a wizard, generously paid for by the team’s sponsor, to blast the opponents and buff the team members. 

Enter one of the multiple online leagues available and develop your team in a season long competition against other coaches from all over the world. Guide the progress of your players as they receive XP, improve their stats and unlock new skills match after match. Be careful, death looms over the pitch and your superstar could end up with a broken neck before the end of the season… but hey, that’s what Blood Bowl is all about: scoring touchdowns, punching opponents in the face and dealing with deadly injuries.

Blood Bowl: Death Zone is released in Early Access, which allows Cyanide to place the game into the hands of players as early as possible, in order to test and balance the gameplay with the feedback from the community.  

Cyanide expects the game to be available for several months on Early Access before the official and final version is released. New features and more teams will be released progressively throughout the Early Access. At this earliest stage, the game contains four teams, multi-player matchmaking and is offered at a discounted price.

Blood Bowl: Death Zone is currently in Early Access. Ultimately it will contain:

• 15 teams based on the most popular races from the Blood Bowl universe (4 in current version)
• 10+ Star Players, each with their unique style, strengths and weaknesses (4 in current version)
• 20+ unique abilities for your players (8 in current version)
• 5 arenas (1 in current version)
• Multiplayer league and simple matches (only simple matches in current version)
