'Crimson Spires' Announced - Screens & Trailer

by Rainier on July 27, 2018 @ 12:18 a.m. PDT

Crimson Spires blends the traditional visual novel style with segments of first-person world exploration, and the aesthetic of early horror games.

The small mining town of Bataille, Missouri has been cordoned off from the outside world for six months. No way in. No way out. No idea what is happening on the other side. Planes don’t fly over Bataille any more. The radio is nothing but fuzz; the television is nothing but static. Even the dogs don't come back.

The Bataille family-the former owners of the mine and the namesakes of the town-say the towers are there to protect the people. They don’t say from what. And what on the other side could possibly be worse than the Bataille family themselves? After all, they're vampires.

Play as Erika Wright, a fatalistic FBI agent from the big city stuck in this small town, as she investigates the disappearance of two teenagers. Pick your partner and Erika's path. As Erika investigates the disappearance of two town inhabitants, the story will branch into a unique storyline depending on the character she grows closest to. Investigate the town and its many side quests. A fully-explorable Bataille, Missouri is full of secrets, and is heavily influenced by early 2000s-era horror games.

Key Features:

  • Branching storyline with four unique paths based on romance choices
  • 3d environments and dynamic cameras during dialog sections
  • First-person world exploration

Powered by Unreal Engine 4, Crimson Spires will be coming to PC in 2019.
