Your goal is to escape the dreams of falling by solving puzzles with nothing but your wits and physics.
Human Fall Flat is a surreal physics puzzle game in which players are tasked with helping Bob (a builder – but not *that* one) escape his surreal dreamscapes. The world of Bob’s dreams are built on his daily experiences, hopes, fears and memories, crafted into nightmarish puzzles by the nefarious dream maker.
At its heart, it’s a game which will make you laugh. Bob is a human. No hero, no super powers. Bob’s journey is as random as it is surreal – with no fixed solutions to the obstacles he must overcome. Taking the form of open-ended sandbox levels in which players can experiment with solutions, Bob must traverse this beautiful yet deadly world in a bid to understand what’s powering his dreams.
Physics-based puzzler Human: Fall Flat has rolled out the promised 8-player online multiplayer as a free update for PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.
This multiplayer mode debuted on Steam last October, where it became a big hit with the PC crowd. Curve Digital has hired the award-winning UK developer Sumo Digital to create the console multiplayer addition to the acclaimed hit Human: Fall Flat.
The update enables players to create lobbies and stumble their way through the game’s levels with up to seven other players; helplessly wobbling through the surreal environments full of physics-based puzzles. For the PS4 and Xbox One consoles, budding Bobs can create private lobbies as well as public, inviting their friends into the bananas building world. Other updates across the consoles include at ten pin bowling lobby mini-game, new character customisation options, and a raft of quality of life UI fixes.
“I can’t wait for console players to experience the chaos of Human: Fall Flat multiplayer. It’s silly, wobbly fun best experienced with pals,” said developer Tomas Sakalauskas. “Sumo Digital have done a stellar job in bringing the 8-player madness to consoles and I’m intrigued by the hairbrained solutions players cook up for my bonkers levels.”
“Human: Fall Flat is, like everything, better with friends. Everyone is laughing, shouting, helping and hindering each other at the same time,” said Cédrine Décoret, Product Manager at Curve Digital. “The multiplayer update completely changes the game, it’s like an instant injection of fun. We are so excited for console players to experience just how crazy Bob’s exploits will get when shared with others!”
Last but by no means least is the news that the console version are now supported with Simplified Chinese, Korean and Japanese language support.
Players control Bob’s basic movement, but operate his arms independently, making his journey haphazard, hilarious and fraught with danger. Bob can pull stuff. He can push stuff. He can kick stuff. He can carry stuff. He can climb stuff. He can break stuff. And he can use stuff on other stuff to make other stuff happen.
Along the way, players will learn more about the human condition – and maybe something about themselves, too.
Will you try to open that mysterious door, or would you rather see how far you can throw a speaker set out that window?
Human: Fall Flat is currently available on Switch, PS4, Xbox One and PC.
