'Brawlout' (ALL) Gets Xbox One And PC Date, Reveals Dead Cells Character - Trailer

by Rainier on Aug. 3, 2018 @ 7:00 a.m. PDT

Set in a vivid world of ancient secrets and endless conflict, Brawlout is a fighting game that puts the future of civilization in the hands (or claws) of its anthropomorphic animals.

Designed for couch and online play - Brawlout mixes platform fighter mechanics, with traditional fighting game moves and pace, doing away with traditional blocking and grabbing to reveal a system based on fluid movement and over the top combos.

As an Exemplar chosen to represent their civilization in combat, each creature fights for the honor and pride of their people.

By merging vibrant platforming with varied combat styles, offering a parade of special moves and emphasizing ground combos, Brawlout finds its own identity - the precision of violent fighters, with a gorgeous animated style.

Why should Big N players have all the fun? Brawlout hits PS4, Xbox One, and PC with special guests Yooka-Laylee on August 21st, and - surprise! - the headless protagonist of Dead Cells coming later this fall (as free update).

The developers at Angry Mob Games have unveiled the next special guest that will be joining Brawlout’s imaginative roster of fighters.

Introducing Yooka-Laylee, from the popular 3D platformer by Playtonic Games. The buddy-duo, Yooka (the green one) and Laylee (the wisecracking bat with the red nose) join the brawl complete with the moveset learned in their epic adventures! Lizard Leap your foes into the air, bring them crashing back down to earth with a Buddy Slam and send them soaring with a Sonar 'Splosion! Yooka can even slurp up an incoming projectile to use it as his own!

Hot on the heels of Dead Cells' upcoming console release, the hard-hitting-hero is being added the ranks of other indie darlings that have joined the Brawlout fray including Hyper Light Drifter, Guacamelee!, and Yooka-Laylee. Dead Cells will hit the stage as a multi-skill, multi-weapon expert that uses his battle-worn shovel, sizeable hammers, and sword-attack-arsenal combined with special magic effects to lay combatants flat.

Brawlout is available for pre-order on PlayStation 4 in North America on the Official PlayStation Store now, and in Europe today, August 3rd. Fans can grab their advanced copy for Xbox One on the Microsoft Store for $19.99. Brand-new Mighty Paco and Mascot Feathers skins are available with all pre-orders!

Launching with an initial six fighters to choose from, Brawlout hosts up to four players in online and local battles, including local multiplayer in either timed, stock or team battles. Throughout combat, fighting builds a player’s Rage Meter, which fuels powerful special attacks. Each fighter comes complete with powerful projectiles or long-range whip attacks that can be evolved through further combo options and advanced technical moves. Combined with advanced movement techniques like wavedashing and air dodging, Brawlout adds new mechanics to keep the action fast and fluid.

Each character in Brawlout has their own unique playstyle, catering to specific character archetypes seen in other fighters. Whether they’re a die-hard grappler or a rushdown fiend, there is a fighter for every player in Brawlout. The game is designed for both couch play and online play, with 2-4 player quick matches, ranked ladders, private lobbies and Brawlout TV for watching live matches, featured replays and for making live tournaments much easier to stream. Brawlout focuses heavily on the aggressive, fast-paced combat which has made platform fighters so fun to both play and watch.

Key Features:

  • Choose from six original characters, each with unique combat styles, or try your hand at Hyper Light Drifter from the indie hit of the same name + more surprise fighters in the works
  • Host up to 4 players in online and local battles, with several modes including timed, stock or team matches
