'Friday the 13th: The Game' (ALL) Support/Development Taken Over By Black Tower Studios

by Rainier on Sept. 25, 2018 @ 4:48 p.m. PDT

Friday the 13th: The Game is an online, asymmetric multiplayer experience where one player will assume the role of Jason Voorhees against seven other players assuming the roles of camp counselors trying to survive the night.

Friday the 13th: The Game will deliver a terrifying combination of features designed to satisfy gamers and fans of the Friday the 13th franchise alike. In addition to bringing the tension and horror of the movies to life, the game will also let players don the mask of Jason Voorhees for the first time and control all new levels of brutal action! The development team had earlier collaborated on the unreleased survival horror-themed game Slasher Vol. 1: Summer Camp and plans to integrate much of that design into the new Friday the 13th game.

You don’t have to eat, drink or sleep. Just live. That’s hard enough as it is.

On June 11th, Gun Media announced an end to new content being added to Friday the 13th: The Game. Our attention immediately turned to focusing on addressing existing bugs and improving the overall player experience. With dedicated servers and some critical bug fixes in place, our development partner IllFonic has completed all contracted work and will be moving on to different projects that will better utilize the full scope of their team.

Today, Gun Media is pleased to announce that Black Tower Studios has taken the lead on all support and development of Friday the 13th: The Game. Black Tower Studios are very familiar with the project, having previously assisted IllFonic in the creation of content for the past year, including work on the Pinehurst and Jarvis House maps. We are confident in the team’s ability to continue supporting Friday the 13th: The Game.

We would like to thank IllFonic for their hard work and dedication to Friday the 13th: The Game since the very the beginning of the project in 2014, and we wish them the best in their future projects.
