Developed utilizing Unreal Engine 4 and trueSKY technology, Ace Combat 7 applies the latest evolution of its graphics engine in conjunction with the power of the latest generation of gaming consoles and PCs to create immersive aerial battlefields.

Fully rendered clouds fill the skies while highly detailed cityscapes enhance the sense of supersonic speed, setting the stage for highly exhilarating aerial battles. Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown will provide an arsenal of ultra-modern and near-future super weapons for players to wield, while presenting formidable enemies for pilots to vanquish in the air.

Aces who have proven their aerial combat prowess in Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown’s campaign mode can take their dogfighting skills online for furious online multiplayer battles.

Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown also marks the return of Sunao Katabuchi as the lead writer behind the fictional storyline that players will experience in the game. Previously, Sunao Katabuchi wrote the storylines for both Ace Combat 4: Shattered Skies and Ace Combat 5: The Unsung War.

The art of aerial dogfighting is one of the most dynamic forms of combat, experienced in three dimensions, setting the stage for a highly unique and challenging battleground. Now, with Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown’s multiplayer mode, players can enter dogfights with their friends and coordinate battle strategy to take out opposing players.  

Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown’s multiplayer mode will consist of two gameplay variants; the first variant takes on a team death match format featuring 4 vs. 4 dogfights. The second multiplayer variant takes on a traditional death match format, enabling up to eight players to blow each other out of the sky. In both multiplayer modes, only players with skill, guile, and determination will taste victory!

During a match players that have the highest rank will be highlighted in-game, putting a ‘bounty’ on their heads for the other players and providing a higher score bonus to those that take them down. Players will therefore have to build a surefire strategy to stay two-steps ahead of the competition, to survive and claim victory.

Players can take to the skies in 28 aircraft (with additional aircraft available as part of the Deluxe Edition and as a preorder bonus), personalising their planes with more than 100 enhanced parts and weapons, and with over 300 emblems and nicknames as well, to tailor their equipment to best suit their play style.

The Ace Combat franchise has always delivered heart-pounding aerial combat action wrapped in a beautifully presented package that pushed the limits of each console generation the game appeared on. Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown continues this storied tradition of placing players in the cockpit of their favorite fighter jets to take part in an aerial ballet of death and destruction… this time with the added realism that can only be delivered through PlayStation VR.  

Players experiencing Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown will be able to see their fighters in true-to-life size and detail when exploring their hangers in PlayStation VR. Players will be treated to unprecedented levels of immersion as they enter a fighter jet’s cockpit, surrounded by detailed instruments, and afforded a true 360-degree view of battles taking place around them through the fighter’s canopy.

PS4 players will be able to play the full campaign on the classic mode and an exclusive and dedicated experience with specific features developed for the Sony PlayStation VR.

Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown is scheduled for take-off on PS4, Xbox One starting 18th January, 2019, and January 31, 2019 for PC (Feb. 1st in Europe).
