'Mashinky' Early Access Update Adds New Road Vehicles - Trailer

by Rainier on Oct. 7, 2019 @ 7:52 a.m. PDT

Mashinky is a transport strategy game that lets you zoom through gorgeous landscapes, utilizing a traditional isometric construction mode and mastering a unique board game-like gameplay.

The simulator challenges players with building and managing a railway company – laying down tracks on procedurally generated terrain, researching and buying vehicles and transporting passengers and cargo take centre stage in the challenging Mashinky. Construction mode will take players into an isometric view, allowing them to easily build their railway network, while the rest of the game takes place in a beautiful 3D world.

You'll find yourself immersed in the task of building your own transport empire where the goal is to create your own transport empire on a procedurally generated map.

The game is a unique blend of realistic graphics combined with an isometric construction mode and boardgame-like rules.

Players start the game in control of a transport company. They must lay tracks on difficult terrain, research and buy new vehicles, manage routes and compete against economic rules to make as much profit as possible by transporting passengers and various cargos. This makes for a challenging simulation game requiring the player to consider all elements of business to be successful.

Road vehicles are finally included in Mashinky game!

Now you are able to extend your transport imperium with road vehicles. Buy and manage busses and trucks, build road infrastructure including bridges and tunnels, deliver first several cargo types and decide where trucks or trains are needed.

When I was releasing Mashinky to Early Access exactly 2 years ago, I gave you some promises what will be included in the game before the full release. Today we are achieving another big one I am super excited to show you and let you in.

Road vehicles are optional to use, you may keep using only trains, but since this is a serious game changer I hope you will give it a try, send us feedback and love it as I do :)

Do not expect to have vehicles for all eras in the game. There are only first several vehicles available, mostly for early 3 eras, but we will deliver more soon ;) This first pack of vehicles are focused on passenger and lightweight cargo types that fit well for road transportation. In some of next updates, I plan to add vehicles for food and goods, because here road transportation makes the best sense.

New Features

  • First pack of road vehicles
  • New road vehicles AI, UI, replacement feature, in game lists, depot window, smart vehicles distribution over huge stations
  • New road infrastructure: bridges, tunnel, station, depot
  • New road vehicles gameplay rules, balancing, overtaking feature
  • New physics including inertia, road bumps, prediction for slowing down
  • Animated mechanical signals, depot doors
  • Many fixes

Mashinky is available through Steam Early Access for $24.99.

Players can switch to an isometric construction mode inspired by the very best strategy classics. This is a grid based map where every change of traffic layout is a rewarding puzzle. You can build simple tracks connecting just two stations, or design sophisticated networks using junctions and signals to maximize efficiency and performance.

As the game progresses, you’ll need to extend and customize your transport empire. You can upgrade industry buildings, stations and depots in various ways, and improve your trains using new engines and special wagons. Each upgrade offers a unique bonus; greater capacity, new processing rules and even new cargo types. Players can develop their own strategy to suit best the network they're building.

With the innovative viewing modes, you can ride one of your trains or watch the operation of the network you have built. You can exit construction mode at any time to dive back into the beautiful landscapes and detailing of the 3D world. You can see your track network from a different perspective, or even jump into one of your train and enjoy the ride.
