Apex Legends delivers a squad-based battle royale experience with a uniquely Respawn flavor. Players will select from one of eight Legends - each with their own unique abilities and playstyles - and the last team standing wins. Combatants can choose from unique characters like Bloodhound, the tracker who can see recent enemy activity on the map, or Lifeline, a battlefield medic who can shield teammates and bring them back from the brink of death. Balanced squads and teamwork are critical, as each Legend is easy to pick up and learn, but challenging to master.

Apex Legends showcases several new genre-leading innovations, starting before players even start the match. Once players are ready to begin, they’ll choose their drop point with the Jumpmaster system, giving each squad full control over exactly where they drop in. Is it smarter to head straight for the most valuable loot and risk early conflict with other teams, or make for one of the outlying areas to plot an attack and let other squads pick each other off?

Apex Legends is getting into the holiday spirit with its new limited-time event, Mirage’s Holo-Day Bash, available now, December 12, and running through January 7. 

The Outlands’ massive holiday celebration invites players to compete in new challenges, earn limited-time cosmetics and experience a side of Mirage they never knew. Hop aboard Mirage’s party boat or battle it out on the decked out train with new Holo-day season themed scenery and a limited time mode.

Below is a quick recap of all the limited-time Holo-Day Bash activities planned:

• Limited Time Mode: Winter Express - Three squads compete to capture the World’s Edge train, decked out in its holiday best, as it moves from station to station. With custom pre-determined loadouts, players can skip the looting and get to shooting, as the first squad to successfully achieve three captures wins the match.
• The Mirage Voyage Town Takeover - Hop aboard The Mirage Voyage party boat for the holiday event of the 28th century! This town takeover invites Legends, and their favorite firearm, to take a dip in the hot tub or go for a spin around the dance floor. Turn the party up even more by pressing a special button aboard the vessel that will trigger fireworks, a slew of dancing Mirage's and more. Be the first to set off the celebrations and earn a free Legendary G7 skin.
• Pathfinder Heirloom and Limited-Time Cosmetics - The Holo-Day Bash Collection Event introduces a set of 24 themed, limited-time holiday inspired cosmetics available through direct purchase for Apex Coins, direct unlock with Crafting Metals or with event Apex Packs. Unlock all 24 Holo-Day Bash Collection Pack Items and receive the Pathfinder Heirloom set for free.
• Double XP Weekend - From 10am PT on Friday, December 13 to 10am PT on Monday, December 16, players will earn double XP on all XP (excluding Battle Pass challenge Star rewards).

Limited Time Mode - Winter Express

Three squads compete to capture the World’s Edge train, decked out in its holiday best, as it moves from station to station. For Winter Express, the path of the train is fixed to a smaller radius in order to ensure you’re never too far from all the action.

In Winter Express, each Legend comes with a custom, pre-determined loadout - no looting necessary here. Want to try something different? Eliminated players will respawn every round and can select different Legends to play mid-match. Explore different squad comps based on what your opponents are doing to hold the capture point. First to three captures wins!

Loadouts rotate daily, so log in often and play new combinations.

Town Takeover - The Mirage Voyage

You are cordially invited to the holiday event of the 28th century! Mirage has moved his party boat, The Mirage Voyage, to World's Edge, and every Legend is invited. So bring your favorite firearm (you'll need it), and get ready to experience a side of Mirage you never knew. Take a dip in the hot tub, go for a spin around the dance floor and don't forget to push the button to get this party started. 

Event Limited Premium Cosmetics

The Holo-Day Bash Collection Event brings another set of 24 themed, limited-time cosmetics to Apex Legends. All 24 items will be available through direct purchase (for Apex Coins or Crafting Metals) and in Event Apex Packs for the entire duration of the event.  Each Event Pack will come with one event item and two non-event items.

Non-Event items can be from the following categories: Weapon Skins, Legend Skins, Legend Finishers, Banner Frames, Banner Poses, Banner Stat Trackers, Intro Quips, Kills Quips, Gun Charms or Crafting Metals.

If you unlock all 24 Holo-Day Bash Collection Pack Items during the event, you’ll unlock the Pathfinder Heirloom set for free.  If you don’t manage to unlock this new Heirloom set during the event, it will be available as an Apex Pack bonus after the event ends.

Double XP Weekend

From 10am PST on December 13th through 10am PST on December 16th players will earn double XP on all XP (excluding Battle Pass challenge Star rewards). This bonus will affect both Account Level and Battle Pass progression.

The innovations don’t stop there as Apex Legends also delivers Respawn Beacons, one-time use locations where defeated teammates can be revived, a contextual Ping communication system that allows players to call out enemies, weapons, locations and more with the push of a button, and an intelligent inventory system which automatically attaches gear and equipment to the appropriate weapons once players pick them up. All together it creates a battle royale experience unlike any other, complete with Respawn’s commitment to top-notch quality and fun.
