Featuring a robust class system, combined arms gameplay, and dynamic in-match and seasonal progression, PlanetSide Arena brings the franchise’s signature epic-scale, all-out FPS action to new massive arena game modes capable of supporting up to 1,000 players per match.
Played solo, in teams of three, or as part of large combat groups, players will begin every match by selecting from one of three initial character classes – Assault, Engineer, and Medic – before deploying via drop pod into a massive map dynamically tailored for each game mode. Each class comes equipped with a jetpack, personal vehicle, and unique abilities which can be upgraded throughout a match, offering a layer of strategy to team construction and combat.
Diverse vehicle selection, a broad arsenal of sci-fi weaponry, and fast-paced movement mechanics combine to create an intense, competitive and unparalleled sci-fi action shooter experience. Weapons and upgrades can be acquired through pick-ups and terminals using in-match currency, while unlocking new Battle Pass levels rewards players with powerful weapons blueprints and character/vehicle cosmetics for max customization.
PlanetSide Arena initially launches with three major game modes: Massive Clash, an epic 500-player Group vs. Group experience, along with Solo and Team Battle Royale modes. New modes like Capture the Flag, Team Deathmatch, Search and Destroy, and Global Conquest will be introduced each new game season.
PlanetSide Arena also debuts an all-new seasonal story arc that will introduce major new content into the game as the development team builds towards the next iteration of the franchise.
Barely entering Steam Early Access a few months ago, Daybreak Games has announced it it shutting down PlanetSide Arena on January 10th, 2020 at 5:00 PM (PST).

After careful consideration, we’ve made the difficult decision to shut down PlanetSide Arena servers.
While our team set out with an ambitious vision for a game that combined the massive-scale combat and camaraderie of PlanetSide through a diverse collection of new game modes, it has become clear after several months in Early Access that our population levels make it impossible to sustain the gameplay experience we envisioned.
As a result, PlanetSide Arena will formally shut down servers on January 10th, 2020 at 5:00 PM (PST). We are actively working with Steam to ensure that all players who made purchases during Early Access will automatically receive a full refund to their Steam Wallet after servers shut down in January.Thank you again for your loyalty and support during Beta and Early Access. Your feedback was invaluable, and your enduring passion for PlanetSide remains the bedrock our community is built upon. As painful as it is to close this chapter so quickly, we remain deeply committed to this franchise, and look forward to continuing this journey through the PlanetSide Universe with all of you.

All players who made in-game purchases of DLC or virtual currency will automatically receive a refund to their Steam Wallet shortly after servers shut down on January 10, 2020.
