by Rainier on March 7, 2019 @ 4:18 p.m. PST

Heavy Metal Machines is a one-of-a-kind 4v4 multiplayer arena combat game where you deal devastating destruction to the beat of a raucous heavy metal soundtrack.

Heavy Metal Machines is a one-of-a-kind 4v4 online multiplayer arena combat game, retiring tried-and-true fantasy heroes for unique vehicular death machines, piloted by a cast of larger-than-life post-apocalyptic road warriors that deal devastating destruction to the beat of a raucous heavy metal soundtrack. The Heavy Metal Machines closed beta will feature eight playable characters and a progression system to unlock unique skills, skins and abilities. A training mode and daily quests to challenge beta participants will also be available.

In a post-apocalyptic landscape ravaged by its own inhabitants, society has been reforged through metal and madness. A new breed of gladiators delivers mayhem and relentless destruction through visceral vehicular combat. The rules for the arena are simple: two teams enter, one team leaves. The four-player team that succeeds in decimating the enemy’s base first wins. Forget gasoline - the Heavy Metal Machines and their insane drivers run on pure adrenaline!

The first Metal League begins this Saturday (9th) on the European Server of Heavy Metal Machines. Players from everywhere are welcome to join and still have time to form their teams, use the competitive queue feature and battle it out for a € 5.000 total cash pool for the winning teams.

“The Metal League is the perfect way for the players to jumpstart their eSports journey with Heavy Metal Machines”, says Tatiana Moreira, developer Hoplon’s Head of Marketing and Publishing. “The competitors can team up with their friends and have fun, or go all out after the cash prizes. For us each player is unique and we take great care to treat all of our community fairly, that’s why we will also expand the Metal League tournament to the North American Server this May.”

The tournament begins on March 9th, with the competitive queue open within the game for players between 2pm-8pm (GMT 0). The next rounds will happen on the 9th, 16th, 23th, 30th, 06th, 13th and 20th. On the final round, the 8 finalists will be broken into brackets and play best of 1 matches.

Prizes pools will be distributed as follows:

1st place (team): €2,000

2nd place (team): €1,500

3rd place (team): €1,000

4th place (team): €500

The final will be held on 20th April, where the best eight teams will be broken into brackets and will compete for the Best Of title. Players from outside of Europe are still able and welcomed to participate. North and South America servers will join the championships from the second season on, in May. The community managers will help players that join the Facebook group for teams to meet and mainly the Discord Channel. The participation in the event is completely for free.

From the Brazilian studio Hoplon, Heavy Metal Machines, features dedicated European servers and it is available for free both on Steam or as a downloadable game client.
