'Kerbal Space Program' (ALL) Breaking Ground Expansion Announced, Dated

by Rainier on May 7, 2019 @ 2:04 p.m. PDT

Create your own spacecraft, launch it into space to explore the galaxy, and visit a vast amount of planets; assuming you can get it off the ground!

KSP puts you in charge of the recently launched space program for a fun & clever alien race – the Kerbals. These little guys are counting on you to build spaceships, rockets and vehicles that can take them on fun space travel missions, without hurting them in the process… You’ll have a collection of parts & tools to accomplish this, each one with unique functions that will affect your ship and its chances of taking off or crashing spectacularly.

Once you've made it to deep space, KSP lets you capture asteroids, launch mining programs to find resources across the furthest reaches of the solar system and build space stations around planets you discover.

The game offers three gameplay modes: Sandbox, where you’re free to build anything your imagination can come up with; Science Mode lets you perform scientific experiments and advance the knowledge of the Kerbals to unlock new technologies; and Career Mode, where you control every aspect of the space program, including crew management, reputation building, as well as embarking on side missions called “contracts” to earn funds and upgrade your space center facilities (or repair them).

Moving on to deep space, KSP lets you capture asteroids (in-game mission designed in collaboration with NASA), launch mining programs to find resources across the furthest reaches of the solar system and build space stations in all the planets you discover. It all adds up to this award-winning game that has taken the space sim genre by storm.

Kerbal Space Program: Breaking Ground is the second PC expansion for the space flight simulator, and will be available for PC on May 30 for $14.99. All players who purchased the game through April 2013 will receive the expansion for free.

The new expansion allows players to take on unique challenges with a wide range of eagerly anticipated content, including additional equipment to conduct a host of scientific experiments and access to intricate robotic parts, which can be used to create all sorts of inventive crafts.

Breaking Ground is all about exploration, experimentation, and technological breakthroughs. Study the soaring plume of a cryovolcano on Vall, mysterious craters on Moho, and even more new features on all of the other moons and planets of the Solar System. Deploy experiments for the long-term study of Minimus and let them collect data while you explore further sights.

The expansion also adds surface features, populating the game’s landscape with meteors, mineral formations and craters to explore and study, while Kerbals will be perfectly dressed for their upcoming missions with a sleek new futuristic space suit.Test your creativity with a new suite of robotics parts.
