'Conqueror's Blade' Open Beta Update Adds New Units, Quests, Tweaks, Fixes And More

by Rainier on July 2, 2019 @ 11:10 a.m. PDT

Combining both heroic action combat with tactical troop maneuvers, Conqueror's Blade allows players to experience authentic medieval warfare as they command fearsome armies.

Booming Games' proprietary engine, CHAOS, delivers a seamless experience, even with thousands of troops onscreen at once, as well as authentic effects, such as fire and explosions, and diverse weather events, including thunderstorms and sandstorms. Stunningly detailed graphics replicate the weapons, armor and equipment of actual medieval troops. The game requires strategic thinking and skillful use of resources, as players must deploy the best army for the battle at hand from a wide selection of both Eastern and Western Legions, powerful Generals, and thousands of weapons.

Battles are fought in a vast sandbox landscape several thousand kilometers wide, where players seek to conquer lands and reign over their own Kingdom. Mirroring our own world the terrain features high mountains, deep rivers and fierce deserts, and populated by a variety of nations and cultures. Players may acquire territory to build their own House and Kingdom and fight to defend them.

Conqueror's Blade features Match PvP, Match PvE and Big World PvPvE. Match PvP features five different battles, including a 15v15 multi-stage siege offense vs defense skirmishwhere the offense must take the defense's flag by selecting from one or two established attack routes. In Death Match, 8v8 or 5v5 sides must kill more Generals before time runs out. Match PvE features two different battles where players escort an NPC and protect it from enemy NPC attack.

In Big World PvPvE, an all-out war ensues in which players compete against each other to occupy territory as well as the AI defenders who hold it. This mode includes two Stronghold War capture the flag-type contests. Stronghold Wars feature up to 15v15 battling simultaneously. Both sides have a flag that cannot be taken at the beginning, along with a neutral flag. The side that captures the neutral flag may attack the enemy's side, and if successful, may occupy their flag for a limited time. The defense wins if it can protect all its flags until the end of the game. In Stronghold Wars, Generals can be revived, but the Legion chosen by the General cannot.

The free Knights & Squires update adds to the valiant amount of new content including five new Crusade units to command, new quests, an endgame progression system for seasoned warlords and balances and bug fixes for stability.

Knights & Squire Update Features:

Five All-New Chivalric Units: Five new powerful units await to be recruited into your rising empire: Demesne Spearmen, Squires, Spear Sergeants, Men-at-Arms, and Monastic Knights! Inspired by the chivalric orders that fronted a number of European militaries for centuries, these soldiers can provide reliable heavy support to your forces, with their considerable staying power making them a worthy addition to any army.

New Tutorial Quests: New tutorial quests will provide more help to warlords still in training, with stellar rewards and equipment available upon completion. If you’re a seasoned warlord, a new set of daily, weekly, and fief quests are also available, with some tweaks made to the criteria for existing quests.

New Military Ranks Progression System: Warlords looking for more ways to show off their progression after hitting the level cap will be pleased to know that Military Ranks are part of a new progression system. Ranks will show other players an overview of their in-game military expertise and achievements! The system will activate once level 60 is reached, with the Military Ranks displaying as a special frame around the class icon.

Crucial Gameplay and Quality of Life Improvements: Several balancing changes have been made to certain units. Notably, cavalry units have received a boost to their health and base attacks, while the clout of their charge has been reduced by 10%. Additionally, the Dual Blades and Nodachi warlords now have new or altered skills, and join the Longbow and Glaive warlords in receiving stat adjustments in service of a more balanced combat experience for all players.

Key Features:

  • Massive Battles and Sieges: With commanders perched at ramparts and enormous trebuchets hurling burning boulders at the battling armies, Conqueror’s Blade delivers unforgettable battlescapes and a visceral medieval combat experience. With more than 1000 units charging the enemy at the same time, 30 commanders and their wisely chosen, battle-hardened troops will face off in attempts to outmaneuver the opposition. The players are the vanguard; personally, protecting the battering rams while under fire from death-dealing arrows - all while looking to exploit an overextended enemy and secure the choke points required to emerge victorious.
  • Medieval Cultural Clashes: Capturing warfare at the peak of medieval rivalry, Conqueror’s Blade sets up conflicts between military forces that have never crossed swords. Players will choose from ten commanders, each with their own fighting style and weaponry. Can a Japanese nodachi withstand a clash against a Swiss halberd, and will be a Hospitaller’s lance be swift enough to charge a recurved Mongol bow? Answers to centuries-old questions will be finally settled on the field of battle.
  • Conquest of an Open World: Conqueror’s Blade’s war theater is a persistent open world divided by regions with unique landscapes, resources and cultures. Players explore the fictional, mysterious heart-shaped continent for as far as their army can take them -- and where skirmishes over resources are inevitable. A key task for player guilds is how to organize their commanders and cooperatively plot to conquer each region, all while building and upgrading infrastructure and recruiting for the armies that will protect the spoils of war.
  • Trade and economic system: Kingdoms will wither and die without healthy trade, so set up your economy with an eye on the markets and diplomatic options open: it makes all the difference between a house and an empire! Trade coins and items at the Auction House, buy basic equipment from Merchants, or take risks on the Black Market to sell off rare materials for silver or gold.

Starting today, players can register on cb.my.com and take their first steps in creating their empire’s epic saga.
