The adventure is inspired by a short film made by the same company and director, the award winning Robot Will Protect You. Encodya has the same main characters and setting.
Neo Berlin 2062. Tina – a nine-year-old orphan – lives with SAM-53 – her big clumsy robot guardian –in a rooftop makeshift shelter in Neo-Berlin, a dark megalopolis controlled by corporations. Tina is an urban jungle kid, who has learned to live alone, scavenging from city dumpsters of the dystopian city and eking out a living from scraps. Her funny robot is always with her, programmed to protect her no matter what.
One day, the little girl discovers that her father left her an important mission: to finish his plan to save the world from grayness! Tina and SAM embark on an incredible adventure across different realities full of bizarre robotic creatures and grotesque human beings. Through puzzles and exciting dialogues, they’ll find out the true meaning of being alive.
“Bringing Encodya to life is a dream come true for our studio, and the characters and topics in the game perfectly tackle the real-world issues we aimed to address,” said Nicola Piovesan, Founder of Chaosmonger Studio. “It is the lovechild of our studio’s desire to create something totally unique to the genre while also bringing attention to the future we could head into. Wishlist Encodya and let’s explore the future together on January 26th!”
The world of Encodya is brought to life using 2.5D visuals (3D characters for smoother animations in beautifully drawn 2D environments) to create an art style fitting for this dystopian future setting.

Encodya is developed by Nicola Piovesan and Chaosmonger Studio. It’s the first big game project for what is usually an award winning film production company. Coming from the world of cinema and animation, however, is a quality statement for important elements that should identify a video game, such as the story line, visual aesthetic, acting, music and sound immersion.
Encodya is in development for PC (Steam - GOG.com), MacOS and Linux, scheduled for January 26, 2021.
