Seeds of Resilience is a survivalist management game where you lead a group of survivors, stranded on an island. The survivors have to build a new colony from the grounds up using real life skills.
The core feature of Seeds of Resilience is authenticity! It is built on real life experience with knowledge of carpentry, architecture and ecology. For instance, there are different kinds of trees (fir, chestnut, oak) with different properties that will affect buildings. While other games aim for epicness, Seeds of Resilience wants to be closer to reality. “Make a great deal with little means”.
Humans of the game will also have to observe nature behavior and patiently learn skills. People didn’t came up with architecture in one day! Seeds of Resilience is designed as the journey of a new, ambitious colony.
In a world where environment always takes the second place, the developers have decided to build a game where you have to understand nature and its patterns. For instance, trees drop out seeds around them based on their natural fertility. Different kinds of trees won't provide the same shelter. Buildings are energy & cost efficient.
In a world where violence is the go-to mechanic in game, Subtle Games is making something without violence, magical powers or supernatural events. It is very raw and basics but making a whole village from scratch is still a huge challenge. On a stranded island, surviving the cold and the hunger is a matter of life and death.
Key Features:
- Patiently go through the steps of re-creating a civilization: Start with a stone axe and a shelter made out of branches to finally build elaborate houses and mechanized workshops.
- Survive in a harsh environment where storms and other natural disasters occur way too often.
- Turn based: Take all the time you need to plan your actions. When you're done, click the end turn button and start a new day.
- Detailed building construction: Choose natural resources according to their properties. Use them to craft the materials needed to assemble a building.
- Realistic medieval construction and craft techniques. Everything could be made in real life the same way.
- Observe the environment response to human activity. Maybe you should avoid fishing everyday at the same spot or cut down the whole forest.
