Players get to play as a team of scavengers, forced to explore and extract valuable artefacts from a vast underground complex that has been overrun by horrifying monsters. Gather weapons, tools and resources to help you survive - and work to unearth the answers about your past and how to escape.
In GTFO, you and your friends will explore hostile and terrifying environments where, in an instant, you are thrown from edge-of-your-seat suspense to frantic action. It’s a large-scale experience, testing players in their ability to gear up and adapt to an endless string of unknown and ever-changing challenges.
10 Chambers Collective consists in part of founding members of Overkill Software and the game designer behind the PAYDAY franchise. With GTFO, they aim to explore and develop the 4-player co-op formula even further.
GTFO is a game with a thick atmosphere intercut by intense action - and the experienced development team shows its strengths in all aspects of the presentation.
Today, 10 Chambers Collective have launched a surprise update where the current Rundown is extended with four new expeditions.
The game recently reached one year in Early Access. To celebrate, 10 Chambers is now surprise-releasing four new expeditions to the current Rundown 004 / Contact.
"Looking at the statistics of death rates for the last Rundown, Contact, we decided our community of Prisoners need to be tested more before they’re ready for the next Rundown chapter of GTFO,” says Simon Viklund, Narrative Director & Composer. “We’re adding four new expeditions on top of the eight that are already in the Rundown. Let’s see if the survival rate increases.”
On the day of GTFO’s one year anniversary, 10 Chambers released a short cryptic video that showcased some raw numbers from the game’s first year: Horrifying data such as the toughest expedition (R2E1, the last expedition of Rundown 002, with only 1.4% success rate) and the most deadly expedition (R1A1, the first level of the very first Rundown, that has killed almost 2 million prisoners). So far, as few as 1.85% of the players have completed the two last expeditions of Rundown 004 / Contact.
“I think the secret behind our high positive Steam rating is our transparency. We’re very open with what kind of game GTFO is: Very challenging, not for the faint of heart, but also very rewarding when you succeed. We even have a warning text on the product page – encouraging people to research before buying,” says Ulf Andersson, Creative Director & CEO. “The exceptionally high positive reviews recently – 96% – should have to do with adding matchmaking in the latest big update. We will keep updating this feature, and maybe we’ll reach even higher.”
The developer team will now take a short break to enjoy the holidays – at a safe distance – with their families and loved ones. When they’re back, they’ll continue developing the next Rundown, number five, which is already in the planning phase.
GTFO is now available through Steam Early Access for $34.99.
