'3on3 FreeStyle: Rebound' (ALL) Update Adds Cross Platform Play

by Rainier on Dec. 8, 2020 @ 12:00 a.m. PST

In 3on3 FreeStyle: Rebound you team up with your friends online or in-person and hit the court to play authentic, fast-paced 3 on 3 street basketball matches in settings inspired by the world's most-revered street basketball venues.

3on3 FreeStyle: Rebound allows players to work with their teammates to pull off rim-shaking slam dunks, awe-inspiring alley-oops, flashy no-look passes, and clutch outside shots which breaks the heart of the opposing team in competitive games filled with the joy and energy of street basketball.

Players can dive into a huge online community of potential teammates and competitors for a personal, competitive experience which makes them feel like they are right there on the court. Allowing for personal interaction, team development, and rivalry, 3on3 FreeStyle: Rebound allows for social and interactive community, while also competitive at the same time.

The straightforward controls of 3on3 FreeStyle: Rebound allow for players to execute their favorite basketball moves with ease within their first time trying out the game. Once the basics have been mastered, players will find each unique character in the game with individual signature basketball tricks which can quickly be picked up, mastered, and unleashed on opponents.

Joycity rolled out a cross-play update for 3on3 FreeStyle allowing all players from PS4, Xbox One, and Steam to freely play with each other without any platform boundaries.

Through the cross-play update, players can invite friends from other platforms, add them as a '3on3 Friend', and play together.

New content and events will be added simultaneously for all 3 platforms for the first time, with cross-play in mind. Going forward, 3on3 FreeStyle will now offer the same content, events, and updates across all platforms. Which means that the Steam version (launched this year), will be fast tracked to close the content parity gap with its console counterparts.

The "Mission: Possible!" event will offer players the ability to receive an exclusive, together-themed jersey and nametag by completing various missions to celebrate the new cross-play functionality. Players logging into the game within 30 days of the start of the event will also receive an event exclusive "Together" buff ball. In addition, the current P5 character rotation will offer all new players a chance tryout various, playable P5 characters without restrictions.

Joycity is excited to open a new chapter of street basketball game through the addition of the all-platform cross-play feature for 3on3 FreeStyle. Players can now seek out and challenge more players with different styles of play, with newfound challenges and a reinvigorated sense of competition.

Inspired by the real-life street basketball courts in the country, the artists have infused their own unique take on the courts using the power provided by the Unreal Engine 4. Interactive environments and characters come to life when a player pulls off a stunning alley-oop or hits an impossible acrobatic shot.

Players can pick from a wide variety of diverse street basketball characters with specific skill sets and physical traits inspired by the different kinds of basketball players you will find on the court. Whether the player wants a tall, lanky rim protector, a gravity-defying slam dunk artist, who can bury the outside shot with ease, they can find them in 3on3 FreeStyle: Rebound’s roster of characters.

Key Features:

  • 3 Vs 3 Online Multiplayer Mode
