'Dreadlands' Needs Your Help Naming a Monster

by Rainier on Feb. 12, 2020 @ 7:55 a.m. PST

Dreadlands is a new turn-based skirmish game set in a living post-apocalyptic shared world.

Explore Dreadlands by travelling across its many regions with your misfit gang of miscreants and mercenaries. The game is set in a Shared World where players frequently encounter and interact with each other. Sometimes they cooperate, other times they pick fights in bloody PvP battles.

Build your gang from any of the distinctly different factions inhabiting Dreadlands. Level up and unlock new spectacular tactics to use on the battlefield. Manage your base by purchasing upgrades. And find unique artifacts to combine into new powerful gear.

Dreadlands allows you to carve your own path, find hidden bunkers filled with artifacts from the old world, play an epic story-driven campaign together with your friends in coop and face off against other players in intense PvP battles.

Welcome to the colorful apocalypse, and good luck.

Fatshark and Blackfox are in need of a creative soul that will help us give our unnamed monster a name that a gruesome monster deserves.

We are looking for a name, and you can be the Senior Monster Name Specialist at Blackfox Studios. The position is only open for one unnamed monster which so far is unknown to the masses.

The name must be a name that people in the Dreadlands can include in their stories, like when they faced this beast head-on bare knuckles and survived to tell the tale. Of course, that’s just the Dreadlands version of the fish story; no one would survive a fist fight with “new name here”!

The best name will be included in the game, and will forever be the name of this beast. You can be the person who names the monster, and get your name in the credits (hey, you’re a game developer!).

Blackfox Studios is lead by former senior Fatshark developer Peter Nilsson, and the game is set in the lush and vivid post-apocalyptic world of Krater.

Dreadlands is in development for PC (Steam), scheduled for 2020.
