'Disjunction' (ALL) Collaborates With Deus Ex Art Director - Screens

Disjunction is an single-player, cyberpunk, stealth-action RPG set in the dystopian underworld of New York in the year 2048.

Set in the dystopian underworld of a near-futuristic New York City, Disjunction is a deeply atmospheric, cyberpunk, single-player stealth-action RPG that follows the intertwined narratives of three characters as they unravel a mystery that will change the fate of their city.

In 2048, the United States is experiencing natural resource starvation and severe climate change, which have led to massive urbanization, with millions of Americans forced to seek new lives among the sprawls of steel and concrete of America’s cities. With greatly increased crime rates, players must take the vices of New York City into their own hands.

A classic RPG featuring hardcore stealth-action mechanics and a reactive story where your choices have real consequences, Disjunction gives players the freedom to take the gameplay approach that suits their playstyle: blasting through levels in brutal fast-paced combat, or sneaking around encounters to avoid confrontation.

Each playstyle has real-time, in-game consequences to the story and can even alter each character’s personality. For example, a more murderous, blitz style of gameplay will turn characters more volatile and pessimistic, significantly altering how their narrative plays out.

Ape Tribe Games and Sold Out unveiled new artwork for Disjunction, created in collaboration with Jonathan Jacques-Belletête, Art Director of Deus Ex: Human Revolution and Executive Art Director of Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, and video games illustrator Isago ‘ISA’ Fukuda.

"Disjunction explores similar themes to Deus Ex, so I was thrilled to provide some new artistic direction for the game's key art and logo,” said Jacques-Belletête. “Partway through the project my first child was born, and we were lucky enough to find an incredibly talented artist in Isago to help realise my concepts. Isago has done an amazing job, and I am thrilled to have been involved with Disjunction’s development."

Isago ‘ISA’ Fukuda added: “Working with JJB has been an honour. I’ve always admired his work, so to collaborate with him on Disjunction has been very exciting. I hope players enjoy the art that we have created together."

"The opportunity to collaborate with Jonathan really has been a dream come true,” said Erwan LeCun, Co-Founder of Ape Tribe Games. “Not only has Deus Ex been a huge inspiration for us during development, but we are all diehard fans of the series, so to have both him and Isago provide their artistic talent to Disjunction has been fantastic.”
