'Tell Me Why' (ALL) Dates All Three Chapters - Trailer

by Rainier on July 23, 2020 @ 7:03 p.m. PDT

Tell Me Why is a gripping, true-to-life narrative adventure. After ten years apart, twins Tyler and Alyson reunite to sell their childhood home. They soon realize their past is not what they remember.

Set in small-town Alaska, Tell Me Why places you at the heart of a mystery in an intimate, true-to-life story where twins Tyler and Alyson Ronan use their extraordinary bond to unravel memories of a loving but troubled childhood. Tyler and Alyson are both playable characters and equal heroes in the story.

In Tell Me Why, memories are not only a key part of Tyler and Alyson’s journey – they’re also a major gameplay mechanic. Players will use the twins’ supernatural Bond as one of many ways to find out the truth of the events surrounding their mother’s death. The choices the player makes with the Bond will influence Tyler and Alyson’s relationship for better or for worse, as well as alter the course of the game through branching dialogue and dramatic actions.

Tell Me Why is a true-to-life experience with strong characters and gripping themes.

Dontnod Entertainment announced that Tell Me Why’s first chapter will be available on August 27, 2020, as well as the availability of pre-orders and pre-installs. The second chapter will launch September 3, and the final chapter will be available September 10.

Tell Me Why’s three chapters will release a week apart beginning August 27, giving players a predictable timeline for experiencing the whole story. The week-long gap ensures that fans have the means to discuss their experiences, share theories and possibly explore new story paths in between chapters.

The trailer reveals even more new info about Tyler and Alyson – including that the twins are seeking closure for what they remember about the death of their mother, Mary-Ann.

DONTNOD are passionate about the opportunities for community-building and audience engagement that come with episodic storytelling, but they are also dedicated to innovation and improvement. DONTNOD has worked closely alongside Microsoft and the LGBTQ media advocacy organization GLAAD in shaping Tyler as an authentic representation of the trans experience, as well as a genuine, multidimensional character. Tyler is also the first playable videogame hero from a major studio and publisher who is also transgender.

Tell Me Why is coming to Xbox One, PC, Xbox Game Pass on August 27, 2020 (Chapter 1), September 3 (Chapter 2) and the final installment on Sept. 10, 2020.
