It's monkeys vs. machines in this zany action-packed shooter!

Monkey Barrels takes place in post-apocalyptic Japan, in a world where mankind has been wiped out by the appliance robot forces of consumer electronics manufacturer Crabbenwold Electro. Inhabiting city ruins, animals have inherited mankind's relics, living out a relatively peaceful existence.

Protagonist Masaru and his companions count themselves among those animals. They too enjoyed carefree, unfettered lives—until one day, when Echizen Crabbenwold, CEO of Crabbenwold Electro and now defacto ruler of the world, kidnaps their friend Kotetsu.

And so, Masaru and the others set out on a journey to get Kotetsu back...thus beginning the Monkey-Crab Wars, pitting primates against the forces of Crabbenwold Electro.

In addition to a 22-stage story mode where the player can fight with a combination of 98 different weapons, there's also an online competitive mode (Banana Scramble) for up to 6 players.

• Attack your rivals and steal their bananas!: The rules are simple: whoever has the most bananas at the end of three minutes wins. Players can not only pick up bananas scattered around stages, they can also steal them from other players by attacking them. Whether you go after other players, keep your distance and pick up the bananas lying around, or mix things up, there are plenty of tactical options at your disposal.
• Raise your Monkey Rank and become top primate!: Carve out your own path to victory, and become the top primate!

This version of Monkey Barrels for the PC will offer a suite of customization options, including mouse and keyboard support, player-defined key bindings and multi-resolution support. It will also feature cross-play with the Nintendo Switch version, allowing players to battle online anytime and anywhere.

What's new for the PC version

To accommodate a wide range of systems and ensure an enjoyable experience for PC and console players alike, we are delighted to introduce the following features to the PC version of Monkey Barrels.

• Cross-play with the Switch version: The Banana Scramble multiplayer mode, in which up to six players compete, features cross-play with the Nintendo Switch version of the game, allowing you to go head-to-head against other players around the world, regardless of platform.
• 60fps and resolution options combine for even more stunning visuals: At 60fps, the game's gorgeous 3D pixel art graphics and intense action are more enjoyable than ever. Plus, no matter your display, the game has you covered with complete resolution support.
• Support for mouse and keyboard input as well as custom key bindings: Players can use either a controller or mouse and keyboard. The game's controls are also customizable, allowing you to tailor them to your system and play style.

To mark the release of the PC version of Monkey Barrels, the game will be available at $8.99, a 40% discount, during a pre-purchase period.
