Desperados III is a real-time tactics game that lets players command a band of Desperados led by fan-favorite gunslinger John Cooper, who’s hunting down his nemesis.The Wild West. A place where the law is made by those with a gun in their hands, and is enforced by the henchmen at their command. A place where death is no stranger and the undertakers are working overtime… especially when people start playing Desperados III.
Heavily inspired by the first game of the franchise, Desperados: Wanted Dead or Alive, Desperados III will allow the player to approach each mission with a wide variety of different solutions and routes. As the player’s gang will always be outnumbered, only smart use of both the environment and each Desperado’s unique character skills will guarantee a victorious outcome.
20 years ago, on April 20th, 2001 Desperados: Wanted Dead or Alive was released by developer Spellbound Entertainment, known today as Black Forest Games.
Fast forward to present day, and the award-winning and critically acclaimed Desperados III (now developed by Mimimi Games) was honored in the past week with the "Best German Game" award at the German Game Awards 2021.
To celebrate the 20 year anniversary, we've created a special documentary, highlighting how Desperados came to be. This includes insights into why it wasn't called Death Valley, why a confederate General, raising zombie soldiers to continue the American Civil War didn't play a role, and why Jon Bon Jovi wasn't part of the first trailer.
