Wildlife Opens New Development Studio SuperWOW! Games

by Rainier on April 28, 2021 @ 2:04 p.m. PDT

Wildlife Studios has announced the formation of its second independent studio, SuperWOW! Games, led by former Electronic Arts ‎Executive Producer Lu Gigliotti.

Led by industry powerhouse Lu Gigliotti, the studio will leverage a distributed development model with initial teams in Austin and Melbourne, benefiting from the support of Wildlife’s development and publishing platform. The news follows Wildlife's recent announcement of its partnership with Ray Mazza and Mike Duke, which brought to life Never Forget Games.

Throughout his games career, Lu Gigliotti has led the development teams of major franchises, including Need for Speed No Limits, Real Racing 3, The Sims FreePlay, and Devil May Cry. He also acted as a driving force for success at companies like Rockstar Games, Electronic Arts, and Ninja Theory, across PC, console, and mobile devices. Prior to SuperWOW! Games, Lu served in several leadership roles, most recently as Vice President of Product Development at Kabam, and as Studio General Manager of EA in Australia.

“Our goal at SuperWOW! is to break the stereotypes around what gamers are or are not, removing the barriers of entry to gaming and allowing more people to participate,” said founder Lu Gigliotti. “Humans have an intrinsic need to play, it's in our DNA. Partnering with Wildlife will accelerate our vision to make games that are fun for everyone, but at the same time with a deeper offering for skilled players”.

This addition puts Wildlife one step closer to its mission of being the go-to place for the most talented minds in the industry. The company provides creators with access to it's publishing platform and takes away all the undifferentiated heavy lifting so that they can devote their energy to making successful games.

“We are excited to bring Lu onboard and help him realise his vision of making simple yet deep games to a broad audience,” said Victor Lazarte, CEO of Wildlife Studios. “When we bring together all these great talents under Wildlife, this community becomes much bigger than the sum of its parts. We want to create the environment in which the world's best game makers come and do the best work in their lives".
