From darkness, the Shadow clan has returned.

Taking place 100 years after the events of the firstAragami game, a new story unfolds amongst the chaos born of tensions between rival factions and an insatiable thirst for power. In this mysterious world where souls wander seeking revenge or freedom, the battles unravel around you by an insatiable thirst for power and control over the Rashomon Valley. Its top contender, the expansionist young nation of Akatsuchi, has arrived to control the valley, its resources and people to fuel their fire empire.

Aragami 2sets players off on an action-packed adventure that takes place in a fantastic world with influences from Asian culture, mythology and folklore, in which powerful military factions rule the lands. It is a time of war, unrest and conflict in which players will live out their ultimate ninja fantasy as Aragami; encountering vivid stealth sequences and epic battles with stunningly choreographed combat. 

The single and co-operative multiplayer game puts players in the protagonist role of a shadow assassin on a mission to rescue its people from an invading army while searching for a cure to the dreadful disease that hunts them. As “Aragami”, players will learn how to strategically choose their approach to battle as they fight to defend Rashomon valley, and discover how the Aragami become legend. Aragami 2 also encourages players to engage in their ninja power fantasy alongside friends: Ninja groups of up to three players can tackle the full campaign together or hop in and out at their leisure.

Fans of the Aragami franchise and stealth games alike will find in this sequel a fresh new action stealth experience with more agile stealth mechanics, new combat features, and gripping narrative.

Lince Works proudly presents the first look at Aragami 2gameplay with a trailer featuring a cinematic, in-engine look at this stealth action title. In Aragami 2, players face the incoming terror of the Akatsuchi Empire which threatens to invade and destroy the Rashomon Valley. The Aragami emerge as a clan to defend their own, utilizing the shadows to avail their cause.

Merge Games has again partnered with Catalan-based developer, Lince Works, to bring physical versions of Aragami 2 to retail. Confirmed for Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S (dual format), PS4 and PS 5, Aragami 2 will be available at retail from September 17 in Europe September 21 in North America. Pricing will be $39.99 / €39.99 / £34.99.

“We’ve grown a lot since working on the original game and, as a larger studio, we have an opportunity to realize all the full potential of Aragami with this sequel,” explains David León, game director at Lince Works. “One of the things that we are truly excited about is the new combat system which not only gives existing fans a new way to play but welcoming new players with a more intense gameplay experience in Aragami 2.”
