'Blood Bowl III' Introduces The Elven Union Team - Screens & Trailer

by Rainier on June 11, 2021 @ 6:20 p.m. PDT

Blood Bowl III is a turn-based strategy game inspired by American football set in the Warhammer fantasy world.

Strap on your boots, don your helmet, adjust your shoulder guards and chest plate… and slip a sharpened dagger into your belt (it's the rules).

The iconic death sport returns with the new video game of fantasy football faithfully using the latest board game rules and new content. Create your team, then crush, mulch and cheat your way to the top... leaving your opponents in the graveyard.

Blood Bowl III is a videogame of fantasy football where elves, humans, orcs and other creatures fight for the ball with shoulder charges, kicks, punches and weapons of varying degrees of lethality (and legality by the ref). As the coach, you must give instructions to your players: hinder the progress of your opponents by positioning them in your tackle zone, knock down those who get in your way, and break through to your opponents' end zone to score a touchdown!

All your units can gain experience and receive statistic bonuses or new skills. However, be careful: injuries are common, especially when the referee is a goblin who tends to overlook most forms of violence. Some players may even leave the field limp and lifeless, putting an early and definitive end to their careers.

The Blood Bowl III closed beta is now in full swing (until June 13th), and to celebrate this moment long awaited by fans, NACON and Cyanide are pleased to reveal all the details for the third team playable in the beta: the Elven Union.

Relying on passing and their players' agility, the Elven Union teams are out to prove that Blood Bowl is a sport that can be played with grace, finesse and elegance.

Composed of High Elves, Wood Elves and Dark Elves, the teams comprising the Elven Union are known for their agility and passing game. But be careful: when it comes to physical contact, the players on these teams are fragile and injury prone.

There are four types of players in the Elven Union teams. The main strength of the inexpensive linemen and linewomen is their agility. As for the throwers, they can throw long passes with surgical precision. The throwers form formidable pairs with the receivers, who can catch the most incredible passes. And finally, the blitzers are there to block opponent attacks.

Want to put your skills to the test with Elven Union in Blood Bowl III? The closed beta can still be played (register here) until June 13 2021! Keys are gradually sent out throughout the beta.

Blood Bowl III will be released in early access on PC in September 2021.

Blood Bowl III is a faithful adaptation of the Games Workshop board game, which is to receive a new edition this year. The game will use the new edition rules, teams (including the new Black Orcs and Imperial Nobility), units and associated skills. The best strategists will obviously be at an advantage, but will that be enough? All it takes is one unfortunate roll of the dice to change the course of a match.

Funnier, bloodier and more spectacular than ever, Blood Bowl III will be a hit with fans of the universe and competitive players alike. At launch, the game will include 12 races, each with their own arena and team of cheerleaders, campaign and multiplayer modes, and loads of customization options. Regular content updates will be added after launch.

Brutal, crazy, tactical… this is BLOOD BOWL!

Blood Bowl III will be available for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PC (Steam) and Nintendo Switch in February 2022.
