by Rainier on June 4, 2021 @ 8:31 a.m. PDT

South Korean developer Pearl Abyss, known for its MMORPG Black Desert Online, has announced a major expansion in Europe and America, opening a new Amsterdam office and further increasing its Los Angeles presence.

Both the Manhattan Beach and Amsterdam offices offer a wide range of local publishing expertise. Their primary function is to service the North American and European markets with dedicated live-ops, server infrastructure, community management, customer support, localization, marketing and public relations services. Additionally, the offices will explore new markets and deepen existing ones. Each office space includes room for Pearl Abyss’ plans to significantly expand their operations in both regions.

Both offices will be responsible for bringing upcoming in-house developed games such as Crimson Desert, DokeV and PLAN 8 to Western markets.

“Pearl Abyss America was established in 2018, and we have continued to expand our team and support our Western players, even in the difficult year we've all faced," said Jeonghee Jin, CEO, Pearl Abyss America. "Our company was founded on the principle of putting the players' experience first and our Western expansion is one more way we take the next steps towards remaining committed to the mission."

Lybee Park, Vice President at Pearl Abyss Europe said, “Our European fans are very important to us and we strongly believe we need to have a physical presence here. With establishing Pearl Abyss Europe we intend to provide the best possible service to our players and build a team of experts to support the launch of our future lineup.”

Pearl Abyss is committed to continued expansion into the Western markets to better serve its players and will continue to proactively do so with its presence in North America and Europe.
