'Warhammer 40,000: Eternal Crusade' Goes Dark, Servers Shut Down

by Rainier on Sept. 12, 2021 @ 12:43 p.m. PDT

Warhammer 40,000: Eternal Crusade is a 3rd person persistent MMOTPS of the 41st Millenium.

Warhammer 40,000: Eternal Crusade features a persistent world where players must choose from one of four factions and work together to take down opposing forces.

Based on the multimillion-selling and extensive Warhammer 40,000 universe, Warhammer 40,000: Eternal Crusade will take gamers into a vicious battle between four factions (Eldar, Chaos Space Marines, Orks, and Space Marines) in the 41st millennium in order to gain control of a world at war. Whether playing PvP (Player versus Player) or PvE (Player versus Environment) missions, squads will have to work together and engage in massive battles to exterminate enemy factions. Players can choose from twenty different sub-factions, utilize hundreds of weapons, and bring to bear customization options and accessories drawn from 29 years of Warhammer 40,000 lore to create their perfect warriors.

Eternal Crusade's combat is fully action-based, meaning that you hit exactly where you shoot or swing and it's up to your skill whether you pull off a headshot or block that incoming chainsword. Both ranged and melee weapons have equal emphasis – as in the iconic battles of Warhammer 40,000, combat begins at a distance with guns and heavy vehicle-mounted weaponry before progressing to bloody blade-on-blade action with brutal executions.

Launched back in September 23, 2016, Warhammer 40,000: Eternal Crusade never really caught on and after 5 years, Behaviour Interactive decided to close down the game, turning off the servers (thanks Blues).
