Arc System Works announced that the long-time Guilty Gear franchise favorite, Baiken, will arrive Friday, Jan. 28, as the fourth playable character in Season Pass 1 for Guilty Gear -Strive-.
Also this Friday, ASW will launch its free new “Combo Maker” game mode allowing players to create and share their own combo sequences as well as the additional battle stage "Lap of the Kami.” Players can purchase Baiken separately for $6.99 starting Monday, Jan. 31
As one of the original unlockable bosses in the very first Guilty Gear, Baiken quickly became a major hit among fans. Guilty Gear -Strive- players have anticipated Baiken’s debut in game, where her arrival boosts the Guilty Gear -Strive- roster to 19 total characters, including the recently added Season 1 Pass characters Goldlewis Dickinson, Jack-O and Happy Chaos. Players can purchase the Season Pass 1 DLC for $29.99, which includes five additional playable characters, two battle stages, color pack and story content.
Baiken’s backstory created immediate intrigue among Guilty Gear fans, combining the tragedy of family loss with her ongoing path to vengeance. Baiken limits her opponent's movements with special moves that automatically counterattack and wields a Japanese sword with a variety of dark weapons. ASW released a character trailer and starter guide to give players the training needed to master this new fighter.
As part of a free update, players can also fight in the new battle stage “Lap of the Kami," a Japanese-style stage based on the theme of mysterious "red seals" beginning Friday, Jan. 28. The new battle stage features breathtaking vistas with rich, colorful forests.
Lastly, ASW wants to thank fans for their amazing support of Guilty Gear -Strive- by releasing a free game mode called "Combo Maker” where players can create and share their own original combo sequences of moves with others. “Combo Maker” gives the community an all-new way to collaborate, allowing them to learn new moves, practice more difficult combos or level up their skills. The "Combo Maker" Play Guide introduces the features and how to use this mode.
Guilty Gear -Strive- is available for PS4, PS5 and PC (Steam) for $59.99.
