'Hitman III' Details How To Carry Over Your Google Stadia Progression

by Rainier on Dec. 15, 2022 @ 2:14 p.m. PST

Hitman World Of Assassination is the dramatic conclusion to the World of Assassination trilogy, taking players around the world on a globetrotting adventure to sprawling sandbox locations, with Agent 47 returning for the most important contracts of his career.

Supported by his Agency handler, Diana Burnwood, Agent 47 joins forces with his long-lost friend Lucas Grey. Their ultimate mission is to eliminate the partners of Providence, but they are forced to adapt as their hunt intensifies. When the dust settles, 47 and the world he inhabits will never be the same again.

Featuring six meticulously detailed locations packed full of creative opportunities, Hitman III gives players the unrivaled freedom to complete their objectives in a game world that reacts to everything they do. All of this is made possible by IOI’s award-winning Glacier technology, which powers Hitman III’s immersive game world to offer unparalleled player choice and replayability.

Hitman III players can import locations from the previous games in the trilogy and have more than 20+ locations under one roof. All of the improvements to rendering, animation and AI introduced with Hitman III can be enjoyed across all three games, making Hitman III the ultimate place to play the entire World of Assassination trilogy.

IO Interactive revealed new details about how Hitman players on Stadia can retain their game progress, once the service ends in January.

For all Hitman players on Stadia who are impacted and want to continue playing with their existing progress, IO Interactive are currently working on enabling a one-time Stadia Progression Carryover.

On January 18 2023, Google are shutting down the Stadia servers completely – and this will mean that all Hitman – World of Assassination content will no longer be available to play on the platform. As a reminder Hitman – World of Assassination on Stadia incorporates Hitman 1Hitman 2 and Hitman 3 all under one roof.

Progression Carryover

For all HITMAN players on Stadia who are impacted by Google’s decision and want to continue playing with their existing progress, we are currently working on enabling a one-time Stadia Progression Carryover.  We expect to enable this process at least a week before the Stadia shutdown, but please read this full article for all the details.

The Stadia Progress Carryover will allow campaign progress, XP, challenge status, item unlocks, mastery levels, and achievements to be carried over from Stadia to any of these platforms that HITMAN 3 is currently available on: Epic/Steam/Windows PC, Xbox and PlayStation.

How to Save your Stadia Progress

In order to carryover your Stadia progress, you must link your Stadia Account to an active IOI Account before the Stadia servers are shut down.

The best way to create an IOI Account is through the game itself. Launch the game on Stadia, navigate to the IOI Account section, enter your email address and follow the process. You can also log into the IOI Account website and double check that the correct Stadia account with your HITMAN progress is listed under your ‘Linked Accounts’.

Important: If you do not link your Stadia Account to an IOI Account before Google shuts down the Stadia servers on January 18 2023, it will be impossible to carry over your progress.

What will be carried over?

Your player profile, XP, suits, items and mastery levels are all carried over. In addition, the majority of your Stadia achievements will also be unlocked on your new platform. Unfortunately, there are some compatibility issues between the achievement systems and so we decided to focus on making sure that the achievements related to progression would auto-unlock as a priority. This will mean that players should not be blocked from completing any trophies/achievements after the carryover.

Your leaderboard positions, save games and created contracts will NOT be carried over during the Stadia Progression Carryover.

Stadia Exclusive Items

When we launched Hitman on Stadia, we included platform exclusive items that were unlocked by playing each game from the World of Assassination trilogy; The Sunset Rubber Duck, Orange Pinstripe Briefcase and White Sunset Suit.

Due to how these items were distributed to Stadia players, they will not be part of the Stadia Progression Carryover. However, we are committed to making all of these items available to all Hitman III players on all platforms in a future patch.

What to expect between now and the Stadia Shutdown?

Google are shutting down the Stadia servers completely on January 18 2023. Here’s some important dates

  • ASAP: Create an IOI Account and link your Stadia profile. It is absolutely essential that you do this before January 18 2023.
Important: If you do not link your Stadia Account to an IOI Account before Google shuts down the Stadia servers on January 18 2023, it will be impossible to carry over your progress.
  • January 11 2023*: Stadia Progression Carryover will be enabled by IOI, through the existing progression carryover portal.
  • January 18 2023: Google Stadia servers shutdown. The exact timing and process is determined entirely by Google.
  • February 17 2023, 9am UTC*: The Stadia Progression Portal will be shutdown and it will no longer be possible for HITMAN – World of Assassination players on Stadia to carryover their Stadia progression.

(The dates above marked with an * are controlled by IOI and subject to change.)

And finally…

The Stadia Progression process is all about continuing your journey and we encourage you to share the word with any Stadia players you know. We will be sending out emails to the Stadia players who already registered their profile with an IOI Account – but we obviously can’t reach anyone without an IOI Account.

Between now and January 18, we will be closely monitoring Stadia Progression issues reported through our Support Pages due to their time sensitive nature. Please don’t hesitate to create a ticket, but also bear in mind that we are somewhat limited in how much support we can offer for some parts of this process. Google are in full control of the Stadia shutdown and January 18th is the point of no return for linking your Stadia account to your IOI Account.

Hitman III’s sandbox locations give you complete freedom to approach your objectives in any way you want. As well as the new multi-function camera, you’ll also be able to interact with the game world in new ways to access new opportunities and paths through each level. Want to organize a meeting with your target? Check. How about opening elevator doors to access a new route? You can do that too and so much more.

As you explore each mission and complete challenges, you’ll rise through 20 Mastery tracks that will unlock new tools, weapons and even Starting Locations that will let you begin your next playthrough with a big advantage – possibly even in a disguise. All of the items and weapons that you unlock in a Mastery track are added to your permanent inventory, so you’ll be able to pick and choose from them no matter what mission you want to take on next.

Hitman III has been made with replayability front and center. You simply cannot see and do everything that a mission has to offer in a single playthrough, and the Mastery tracks keep things fresh as you take new approaches, use new items and discover previously unexplored areas.

Depending on how you choose to complete your objectives, you’ll be awarded with a Playstyle at the end of each mission. From the coveted Silent Assassin to a Hired Gun and everything in between, there’s a Hitman style for every player. Maybe you’re a Marksman?

Hitman III will have full PS VR support. Yes, that means you can traverse the outside of the tallest building in the (Hitman) world in PS VR! If you own the previous games from the trilogy on PS4, you can also access locations from them within Hitman III. That’s more than 20 Hitman locations from the World of Assassination trilogy to enjoy in PS VR.

You can either play Hitman III in PS VR natively on your PS4 or via backward compatibility on PS5. To make sure all PS VR owners can experience the game in VR, we’re including a free digital copy of the PS4 version of Hitman III with all PS5 copies, whether you choose to buy it via disc or digital.

Hitman III will look, sound and play better than ever with improvements to lighting, reflections, animation and AI. Chongqing also features full water effects, with details such as rain drops hitting Agent 47 and his clothes getting wet, all adding to the immersion of experiencing Hitman III.

On next-gen consoles, Hitman III will run in 4K resolution at 60 frames per second with HDR support.

Hitman III is currently available for Nintendo Switch (through Cloud Technology), PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, Google Stadia and PC (Epic Games Store).
