A Plague Tale: Requiem is the direct sequel to A Plague Tale: Innocence. Previously, players lived the grim tale of young Amicia and her little brother Hugo in a heartrending adventure through the darkest hours of history. Hunted by Inquisition soldiers and surrounded by unstoppable swarms of rats, Amicia and Hugo came to know and trust each other as they struggled to survive against overwhelming odds and fight to find their place in the world.

After the original game's epic finale, players embark on the emotional journey's second chapter in the narrative action-adventure franchise, which follows Amicia and her brother Hugo on a perilous new quest, doing whatever it takes to survive a brutal, uncaring world.

French magazine Écran Total reveals that Focus Entertainement's A Plague Tale is getting a movie/TV screens adaptation by Mediawan / Merlin Productions (in cooperation with Focus Entertainment) and will be directed by Mathieu Turi (also is the scriptwriter), known for having worked on movies like Hostile (2017), Méandre (2020), as well as assistant director on Inglourious Basterds, Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows, Lucy, 3 Days to Kill and Gossip Girl.

"For me it is fundamental that our productions reflect French talent and know-how. A Plague Tale is a game designed by Asobo in Bordeaux that we produce with a company based in Paris; its creators had the opportunity to sell the adaptation in the United States, but they preferred to work with French: I want to restore that trust in them," said Merlin Productions director Fabrice Renault.

A Plague Tale: Requiem is coming to PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC in 2022. A Plague Tale: Requiem will also be released on Nintendo Switch using Nintendo’s cloud-streaming technology.
