This partnership will bring a selection of Chorus Worldwide’s titles to fans in collectible, high-quality, physical versions, continuing Serenity Forge’s commitment to bringing independent titles to mass market physical retail.
This partnership comes on the heels of Serenity Forge’s entry into the physical games publishing realm, following up on their success with Death’s Gambit: Afterlife, Cyanide & Happiness - Freakpocalypse (Episode 1), Absolute Drift: Premium Physical Edition and Doki Doki Literature Club Plus, the latter of which has sold more than 500,000 copies.
“Chorus Worldwide has an amazing catalog of titles that perfectly meshes with the vision of Serenity Forge to bring to market meaningful games that challenge the way people think,” said Zhenghua Yang, founder and CEO of Serenity Forge. “Bringing these games to traditional retailers allows them to reach an entirely new market that might not necessarily be tapped into the digital gaming space. The retail space has typically been dominated by AAA titles, but Serenity Forge is passionate about diversifying this space with games that might not have had the chance to reach these audiences before.”
Chorus Worldwide is the publisher behind games such as D.I.C.E. Awards nominee Coffee Talk, When The Past Was Around and Forgotton Anne. Serenity Forge and Chorus Worldwide are set to roll out specifics of the multi-title deal at a later date. The partnership with Serenity Forge follows Chorus Worldwide’s previous entries into the physical retail space with titles such as Coffee Talk, Yuoni, and Speed Limit. Chorus Worldwide continues to publish physical games directly into the Japanese retail market.
“Serenity Forge has a proven track record of bringing indie games to market in a strategic and unique way, making sure that their physical versions really add something worthwhile for fans to own and enjoy,” said Shintaro Kanaoya, founder and CEO of Chorus Worldwide. “We can’t wait to work with the team to bring our unique, one-of-a-kind games to the retail market in North America and Europe.”
Serenity Forge is the publisher behind retail hits Doki Doki Literature Club Plus, Death’s Gambit: Afterlife and Where the Water Tastes Like Wine and has achieved success in bringing games of all sizes to physical retail. Carving out its own niche market by bringing non-AAA games to stores around the world, Serenity Forge continues to forge a path of success as a full-service publisher and distributor of ground-breaking and experimental games that push the boundaries of what a video game can be.
