While the war in Ukraine had already caused a delay on the development of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chernobyl, an "upcoming titles" image revealed during yesterday's Xbox & Bethesda showcase apparently put S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 in the 2023 column which was confirmed by developer GSC World today.
During Microsoft’s Xbox Games Showcase Extended today, Ukrainian developer GSC Game World revealed a new trailer for their immersive horror-simulation FPS S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl.
Some of GSC Game World’s employees have decided to defend their country while a part of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl’s development continues in Kyiv. The company has also established a new office in Prague, Czech Republic, where much of the game’s development will take place.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chernobyl will feature a branching story with multiple endings. Players will have to constantly make uneasy choices with tough consequences — some of them changing the world itself.
The unique simulation system called A-Life from the original S.T.A.L.K.E.R. trilogy is getting on a new level with A-Life 2.0. With different behavior of characters and mutants, the Zone changes constantly. Every playthrough will be unique with lots of things happening every moment, even if the player doesn’t witness them directly.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chernobyl is coming to PC and Xbox Series X|S as a console launch exclusive in 2023, available through Xbox Game Pass on day one.
