'World Of Tanks' v1.23 Update Will Introduce The Random Events Feature - Trailer

by Rainier on Nov. 15, 2023 @ 1:24 a.m. PST

In World Of Tanks player teams are fighting action-packed PvP battles, featuring more than 150 armored fighting vehicles from the pre-WW2 era up to the Korean War.

World Of Tanks is a team-based massively multiplayer online action game dedicated to armored warfare. Throw yourself into the epic tank battles of World War II with other steel cowboys all over the world. Your arsenal includes more than 150 armored vehicles from America, Germany, and the Soviet Union, carefully detailed with historical accuracy.

Ride the legendary Tiger tank, or choose the fast-and-furious Soviet T-34, practice your sharp-shooting skills with the American 155mm M40 Gun Motor Carriage or try experimental/prototype machines such as the Germany's monstrous Maus tank. A Player can have an endless number of tanks in "garage", and all machines can be upgraded in dozens of ways: better turrets, chassis, guns, engines, radios, various ammunition types, plus tank crew members can be leveled up as well.

World of Tanks is pleased to introduce a new gameplay feature: Random Events, which represents an important milestone in the development of the game's maps.

Random events will be introduced in the upcoming update v1.23 and are a series of dynamic events that occur with specific probabilities in specific areas of four maps: Himmelsdorf, Ruinberg, Prokhorovka and Safe Haven. Red smoke marks the event zone, and a notification will appear when players approach or cross the border of this zone. Tank drivers should exercise caution in the event zone as their vehicles can be destroyed by falling objects.

Each event will significantly change the terrain of each map and provide players with new tactical options. This change opens up new paths for vehicles, creates new cover, and provides unique firing positions. As a result, players will not only get more action-packed and dynamic gameplay to keep them on their toes, but it will also visually enhance the gaming experience and make it even more immersive.

The type of events varies depending on the map:

  • On the Safe Harbor map, a plane crashes onto the roof of the bunker, causing its structure to collapse and creating additional cover between the bunker and the harbor.
  • On the Himmelsdorf map, the locomotive is hit by an air raid as it leaves the train station. Here the scattered wagons serve as good cover. Additionally, a crashing Zeppelin changes the landscape in the central square and "Panzergasse" by creating a descent from the hill to the heavy tank positions.
  • On the Prokhorovka map, planes crash into the avenue, burning part of the bushes and creating new cover.
  • The Ruinberg map is attacked from the air. This creates an additional passage through the central blocks in the city, creating a new direction of attack.

World Of Tanks is available for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
