Corpse Keeper is a medieval gothic action-strategy roguelike where you assemble a trio of undead warriors from over 30 distinct ghoulish grunts and wage war against the demon ruling the city of Lenste.

Assemble an unholy trio of rotting corpses to confront and destroy the demon haunting the city of Lenste in this dark and oppressing medieval world. Manage flesh and bone across 30 cursed characters, each with distinct traits, and fend off decay while upgrading the undead squad’s attributes.

Carve and hack a path to victory with realistic sword-fighting mechanics, and harvest the flesh of fallen foes to extend the life of undead soldiers. Even the playing field with perfectly-timed dashes, parrying tactics, and upgradeable weapons with special abilities.

Battle evil and time itself, carefully managing resources with a devilish level of detail for both exploration and combat. Held together by only black magic, the rotting flesh of the terrifying triad worsens with every passing moment. Mounting levels of decay eventually render each warrior useless, but “preservatives” can help stave off the inevitable.

Adapt to each challenge with an ever-changing rotation of temporary ghoulish grunts. Study the horrifying enemies and the ominous surrounding areas before every battle to craft the perfect plan of attack. Enlist new Grave Keepers, Knights, Plague Doctors and Assassins to replenish ranks, and explore six eerie areas in a hunt for the demon presiding over the cathedral.

Corpse Keeper is now available on Steam Early Access for $19.99 USD/19.50 EUR and supports English, Simp. Chinese, German, French, Spanish, Italian, and Japanese language options, and coming to the Epic Games Store this February.

Corpse Keeper shakes up expected roguelike traditions by requiring adaptability from each decaying squad,” said HC Li, Producer, Melancholia Studio. “We can’t wait to see all kinds of strategies, builds, and squad combinations tested out in Early Access.”

“The Early Access version of Corpse Keeper has six complete game stages. New content will be gradually updated during the Early Access phase, and we will keep optimizing the game to provide better gaming experience.”

“The complete version of Corpse Keeper will have more unique characters each with their special skills. More stages and various items will also be available. Players will have more freedom to build their own team to complete the challenges and eventually eliminate the bosses.”

Key Features:

  • A wide collection of characters: Dozens of playable characters, each with a large number of well-designed and extremely vigorous attack actions.
  • Decay system: You are controlling corpses of flesh and bones sticked together with black magic. Every exploration increases the decay of the body. The dead warrior collapses when the decay reaches 100%. The increase in decay is irreversible and you can only reduce the increase by applying "preservatives". Be aware of the team selection ahead of every run!
  • Roster building: You'll constantly lose your warriors due to the decay process. But on the other hand, you'll be able to create new corpses with flesh and bones of the defeated enemies. This means that you won't be able to lay back and win easily with the same team over and over again. In order to lead the team forward, you will have to adapt to changes and achieve dynamic balance.
  • Resource management: There're all kinds of resources to acquire in Corpse Keeper, which are essential for exploration. However, you can't always have it all. You need to understand what's really urgent and make your choices accordingly.
  • Unforeseeable adventure: You will encounter not only enemies but also facilities to aid you, and make you pay at the same time. Be aware not to backfire yourself by interacting in wrong scenarios.
  • Countless equipment: Equipment offers not only boost to attributes, they also grant powerful specialties to your warriors. To make full use of the specialties, your lineup, enemy's attributes, the area and many factors are under consideration. Specialties may also affect the items and facilities you use.
  • Immersive atmosphere: Six distinctive areas can be explored, offering a solemn and dark medieval fantasy landscape.

Corpse Keeper is in development for PC (Steam).
