In Green Hell the player is dropped into the impenetrable, emerald depths of the Amazon rain forest; the Green Hell. Having no memory of how you got there, your goal is simple: survive. Stuck in a beautifully nightmarish environment, it will take fortitude of mind and the most primitive of means to escape.
Become Jake Higgins, a famous anthropologist who finds himself lost in the Amazon jungle. Surrounded by various dangers and equipped only with his watch, backpack and handy survival guide, he must endure and make it back to civilization.
With only a radio at your disposal the player will follow a familiar voice through a seemingly endless and ruthlessly inhospitable jungle. Bit by bit, you will unveil more of the mystery of how you came to be in this hostile situation, and what you discover just might be worse than what you fought so hard against to survive.
Take on the thrilling challenge and see how long you can last in the green hell of the rainforest. Craft various tools and weapons to fight back against predators, chop down trees, heal yourself or catch fish in the treacherous river. Build a shelter, grab a bow and get ready to survive – we wish you the best of luck, you’ll certainly need it!
Clinging to life, the player is set on a journey of durability as the effects of solitude wear heavy not only on the body but also the mind. How long can you survive against the dangers of the unknown?

"I am very happy that we managed to set the terms for further development of Green Hell VR. I think this is what both players and investors expected from us. As we celebrate the first anniversary of Green Hell VR’s release on Meta Quest 2, we can now announce that players will receive a co-op mode and three Spirits of Amazonia DLCs which are already popular among fans of the original version of this IP. We expect that the active support and development of this title will allow us to generate revenues in the following years as well, " comments Incuvo’s CEO Andrzej Wychowaniec.
The gameplay expansions for Meta Quest 2 will be released one by one, by June 30, 2025.
For other platforms, Incuvo is yet to announce the release dates and platforms.
The jungle can be beautiful, interesting and, of course, dangerous. It’s the perfect place to fight for survival and explore the lush, green world.
The appearance of such an exotic place can vary depending on several aspects, such as the time of day or the changing weather. However, there are some distinguishing elements of the jungle aesthetic that can be identified, such as dense foliage. The environment has an air of mysticism and danger and has the ability to evoke a variety of feelings in those who visit it. The fact that it’s home to such a wide variety of plant and animal species not only adds to the visual appeal, but also makes it incredibly intriguing to many people.
In Green Hell VR, you can explore the harsh rainforest from the comfort of your own room.
Key Features
- Realistic Survival Simulator - Green Hell puts great focus on realism in both its world building and gameplay. Everything that is crafted or built is necessary for survival, and was consulted on with experts. The Amazon is not a typical forest; threats are literally crawling under your skin.
- Psychological Thriller - Waking up in the middle of the Amazon with no recollection of how you got there or how you’ll get out, the hardest battle you’ll face is the fight against yourself and your weaknesses and fears.
- Fully Alive Amazon Rainforest - Every effort has gone into recreating the lush world of the Amazon in painstaking detail. An exotic and dangerous place, this jungle is filled with many hazards beyond predators including toxic plants, illnesses and infections, all waiting to bring the player to their demise.
- Body Inspection - Dangers lurk around every bend but they also live under your very skin. Paramount to your survival is checking your body for parasites, infections, and wounds. Take care or suffer the consequences.
Green Hell is currently available for Nintendo Switch, PS4 and Xbox One, PC (Steam) for $24.99, while Green Hell VR is available for Meta Quest 2, Steam VR, Oculus Rift and Pico platforms, coming to PS VR2 (PS5) later this year.
