'Hearthstone' Titans Expansion Will Add Warcraft Gods In August - Trailer

by Rainier on June 27, 2023 @ 2:17 p.m. PDT

Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft is a free-to-play strategy card game where players build card decks centered around one of nine iconic Warcraft character classes and duel each other for fun, glory, and the chance to win awesome new cards.

Deceptively simple in design but epically engaging, Hearthstone will be instantly accessible to players regardless of their familiarity with Warcraft or collectible card games. Whether players prefer to wield magic or arms in battle, strike from the shadows or head on—or have never given any of that much thought—they’ll be able to jump right in, create a deck, and get in on the card-slinging action.

In addition to honing their skills in practice matches against the computer and taking on their buddies via their Battle.net friends list, players can challenge each other in two competitive game modes. “Play Mode” features traditional head-to-head battles, with players facing off for a chance to increase their medal ranking and earn card packs along the way. And for a different type of challenge, players can enter “The Forge,” where they start each match by building a deck from a new set of cards, and then use that deck to duel other Forge participants. Aside from winning new cards, players will be able to round out their collections by purchasing new card packs or disenchanting some of their existing cards to craft the ones they’re missing.

With hundreds of cards to choose from, featuring a wide range of colorful Warcraft spells, weapons, and characters, players will have limitless possibilities for developing and fine-tuning their deck-building strategies.

PREPARE, MORTALS!

The gods of the Warcraft universe have arrived on the planet of Azeroth. From their city of Ulduar, the titans are using their massive forges to create the races that will inhabit the world, all while setting them up for success!

This expansion is packed full of advanced titan technologies, with 145 brand new cards - including 11 Legendary Titan minions - a new Keyword: Forge, a returning Keyword: Magnetic, and an all-new Twist on the Classic mode.

HARNESS THE POWER OF THE TITANS

  • The TITANS expansion consists of 145 new collectible cards and is coming in August!
  • The TITANS Pre-Purchase Mega Bundle includes 80 packs, 5 Golden packs, 1 random Signature Legendary, 1 random Golden Legendary, the Death Knight Inge Hero Skin and cardback, and a Diamond Zilliax Legendary card. The Standard Bundle includes 60 packs, 2 non-golden random Legendary cards, and the Inge cardback.
  • Upon login starting June 27, all players will receive Prison of Yogg-Saron, the first neutral Legendary Location!

INTRODUCING ALL NEW MECHANICS

  • New Titan Minions: The pantheon of Titans shaped Azeroth with their technologies, and now it’s your turn! Each of the eleven Titans comes with a passive ability, plus three additional abilities specific to the class it represents. Each turn will allow you to play one of the abilities, and the Titan will be able to attack normally once all three are used. Strategize the abilities to maximize your Titan’s impact!
  • New Keyword: Forge: Cards with the keyword Forge can be upgraded while in your hand. For the cost of two mana, simply drag the card back into your deck. This is considered “forging”, and the card will immediately return to your hand with an upgraded mechanic.
  • Returning Keyword: Magnetic: First introduced in ‘The Boomsday Project’ expansion, the popular keyword Magnetic is returning to the meta—more so than before! Now, cards with Magnetic won’t require a space on the board to magnetize to others, allowing you to build a stronger lineup.

CLASSIC MODE GETS A NEW TWIST

  • Beginning with Patch 26.6, Hearthstone will be replacing the Classic Mode with a new Mode called Twist! Twist is a Hearthstone ladder Mode with regularly rotating seasons, each witha twist on the rules! Twist formats can include curated card pools and special rulesets.
  • To start us off for the first season, we’ll have New Age, an evergreen format that includes the Core Set, plus all sets from Ashes of Outland onward. As new sets are added to the game, they will be added to the New Age pool, and could be brought back from time to time.
  • For this season, there will also be a special rules variant to the New Age format: no neutrals allowed. This will let you re-experience the former cards, but through new eyes!

FIRE FESTIVAL RETURNS

  • Join the annual midsummer celebration from July 11-August 1 with special Event Quests and prizes for both Traditional Hearthstone and Battlegrounds, including a bunch of Packs, the Felblaze Illidan Demon Hunter skin, and the Sparkhoarder Togwaggle Battlegrounds Hero Skin.

Announcing TITANS Hearthstone’s Newest Expansion

Before the age of mortals, the titans came to the world. These massive beings used arcane magic and ancient technology to imprison the Old Gods and bring order to the nascent planet. They imbued their keepers with celestial powers to watch over the planet and help forge the many beings that would inhabit it. This is what myths are made of. This is TITANS!

TITANS will launch worldwide on August 1, with 145 new cards! You can find the full TITANS reveal schedule, and all the cards that have already been revealed, by visiting the official Card Library. Check back frequently—the page will be updated with new cards daily!

Legendary Titans and Keepers

Each class gets a Titan, a celestial being born of a world-soul like Azeroth’s. Minions with the new Titan keyword have three special activated abilities that they use instead of their normal attack. Each turn, including the turn you play them, you can choose to activate one of those abilities. Once an ability is used, that ability can’t be chosen again. Once all three abilities have been used, the Titan attacks normally instead of with its abilities.

The Titans created powerful keepers that they imbued with some of their power. The keepers were left to create, nourish, and protect the fledgling life on the planet. The denizens of Azeroth would worship these keepers like they were gods, and many great myths were written about them. Each class gets one of these world-shaping Legendary minions!

Keep an eye out for a dedicated Titans Lore Blog, coming soon, in which we’ll share more about these powerful beings and their impact on Azeroth.

New Keyword: Forge

Like the titans and the keepers, you can hold the power of creation in your hand! Cards with the Forge keyword can be dragged over to your deck and upgraded into its Forged form for two mana.

Returning Keyword: Magnetic

The titans brought advanced technologies to Azeroth, creating massive cities, complex machinery, and mechanical beings. Some of these ancient Mechs come with the returning keyword, Magnetic. Magnetic minions can be magnetized to other Mechs already in play.

Prison of Yogg-Saron Login Reward Available Now!

After the titan-forged armies defeated the Old Gods, the keepers were tasked with watching over their prisons. The power of the Old Gods was contained for a time, but now their influence has started seeping through.

Surely, nothing bad will happen if you were to use just a little bit of its power...

New Signature Looks

The Signature cards in TITANS will have a new art style, representing their history, mythology, and grandeur. Here’s an example from the TITANS set:

There are a total of 15 different Signature cards in TITANS. Signature cards can be disenchanted for the same value as if they were Golden cards, but Signature cards can’t be crafted. Instead, they can only be opened in packs, purchased in shop offerings, or earned through special means, like in-game events.
