'Heavenly Bodies' Gets Cleanup DLC Next Week - Trailer

by Rainier on July 19, 2023 @ 8:53 a.m. PDT

Discover the ever-changing nuances of weightless motion with Heavenly Bodies – a single and local-multiplayer, physics-focused game.

In Heavenly Bodies, you’re a brave cosmonaut, and it’s your sole duty to maintain Earth’s latest and proudest feat of space engineering.

Wrangle the hands and arms of space cosmonauts and push, pull and twist your way through a precarious range of physically-simulated stellar scenarios where, without gravity, nothing is still, nothing is secure, and nothing is simple.

On a good day, the beauty of weightlessness will shine through. You'll use your sharp mind and dexterous limbs to assemble space telescopes, maintain delicate solar arrays and research cosmic botany. On worse days you'll be missing gravity's embrace, when: the power is out, you're in the firing line of supersonic space debris and... there's a breadstick stuck in the emergency backup generator.

Heavenly Bodies is getting DLC!

Set in and around a vast new space station across 7 days, in the Cleanup DLC you will deal with the aftermath of the catastrophic events that took place in the base game. Equipped with various new tools and devices, you must repair your debris-damaged station and dispose of hazardous scrap while finding out what went wrong in the previous mission.

The DLC’s new features include: a brand new, expansive semi-open level split across 7 days; a new Piloted Manoeuvring Unit (PMU) Vehicle; new tools and gadgets including magnetic attractors, drills and more; and new challenging gameplay mechanic. As a result of the recent 4-player co-op update, it is playable solo or with up to 4 players.

“With Cleanup, we feel that we’ve successfully managed to expand on what is enjoyable about the game at its core, giving new and old players what now feels like a mini-sequel to the original game,” says Joshua Tatangelo.

“After finishing Heavenly Bodies, we had so many ideas about the things we wanted to still do,” says Alexander Perrin. “We made a real effort to include all the new ideas we found exciting ourselves here, and we hope players really enjoy them too!”

The Cleanup DLC will be released on 26th July for PC, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5. The base game and the DLC are priced at $25 USD; the DLC on its own is priced at $7.99 USD.

In Heavenly Bodies, everything is designed so it can be physically simulated. Ropes, buttons, machines, and your very own body react to forces in a way that, without gravity, will challenge you to rethink the way you approach seemingly trivial tasks.

For those that were paying careful attention, yes, you can play with a partner via local co-op! Call on a friend and discover the new, creative and elaborate ways to finish the task at hand. Cooperation might not always be frictionless though, so pick your crew well.

Key Features:

  • A collection of puzzling stellar scenarios inspired by the work of real-life space explorers.
  • Take on the challenge solo in single-player mode or team up with a friend via local-coop.
  • Control each limb of a weightless cosmonaut to perform difficult and delicate manoeuvres.
  • Manipulate state-of-the-art space vehicles and elaborate machinery.
  • Stylised 70s visual aesthetic influenced by archival space photography and technical illustration.
  • Full DualSense controller support makes interacting with every different material feel unique (PS5 exclusive feature).

Heavenly Bodies is available for PS4, PS5 and PC (Steam).
