Hexxen: Hunters is set in a dark, alt-history 18th century where players must lead a party of “Hunters” against supernatural forces threatening humanity.

Hexxen: Hunters is being developed by Ulisses Spiele Digital, using the Hexxen: 1733 table-top roleplaying game, a setting where the gates of Hell opened unleashing countless supernatural horrors on the world. Now, 100 years later, a select few have risen to beat back the forces of evil, channeling new-found powers to become Hunters. These larger-than-life heroes roam the land, fending off witches, werewolves, and worse in a desperate battle for survival.

Players must assemble a party from a roster of Hunters and venture out into the world, beating back monstrous hordes and going on quests. In the background signs,  portents, and a good old fashioned doomsday clock point to impending doom. Turn-based combat will see players face off against enemies big and small, each requiring its own strategy to best. Will you use Goetz's blunderbuss to attack at range? Or perhaps Faye’s arcane machinations to confuse and distract so that Franziska’s righteous fury (and very pointy lance) can finish the job.

At the end of each expedition, the party will return to its haven, patch up their wounds, and gear up for the next threat. Different monster types can be studied to try and find weaknesses, Hunters can upgrade weapons or craft items, and players must also seek out information and rumors regarding what is happening out in the wider world.
