Venture into the barren wilderness in search of seeds, the key to new life. The world of Wildmender is procedurally generated, so your world and your adventure will be unique to you. If you want to survive, you’ll have to explore the world, revive the plant life you find along the way, and use seeds to cultivate your own lush garden.

Develop a harmonious relationship with the landscape and you’ll benefit as a result! Extracting the resources from dead flora and fauna may be helpful in the short term, but the real skill lies in making your resources last in the long term. Take the time to revive or cultivate plants and gather their materials strategically. If you care for them, plants will provide you with an abundance of food and magical essence. Keep an eye out for local wildlife as well, who may lend you their helpful services in exchange for treats or favors.

By communing with the lost spirits you’ll meet on your adventures, you’ll unlock spells and upgradable items that will help you on your mission to restore the landscape. Learn to soar above the very lands that once challenged you. Heal, revive, and charm the plant life you encounter on your travels. Battle against wraiths, the cursed ethereal beings that linger in these lands. As you gather more magical essence and master new spells, you’ll grow powerful enough to rescue ancient deities, earn their favour, and learn even more from them about the old magic that lies buried deep within the heart of the landscape.

The Rainforest Alliance is an international non-profit organization with more than 35 years of experience in sustainability transformation and staff in 20+ countries. In line with Wildmender’s launch, the partnership seeks to engage and educate players about their impact on the environment and the role they could play in saving it.

Wildmender’s game story sees players take control of a character tasked with restoring life to a dying world. Starting from a tiny oasis and accompanied by a guide spirit, Vidyas, the player will travel to and restore the altars of five Gods, and in the process remove corruption from their part of the world. The Gods themselves embody elements and natural processes (water, storms, time, etc.) and introduce themes of natural cycles, environmental damage, restoration, and harmony with nature. 

This unique strategic collaboration seeks to leverage the power of gaming for a greater cause, raising awareness of social and environmental issues amongst gamers around the world as well as empowering players to make a real-world impact themselves.

The Rainforest Alliance will benefit from the relationship with Wildmender, its developer Muse Games and publisher Kwalee via fundraising and increased exposure to a young gaming audience in numerous media, including unique Downloadable Content (DLC - a Rainforest Alliance Frog Hat - available on Steam), on the Wildmender website and the game's Discord community, Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and associated TikTok videos.
